Astronomy Lesson Plan
Standard(s) ES.13 The student will investigate and understand scientific concepts related
of Learning to the origin and evolution of the universe. Key concepts include a) cosmology
including the Big Bang theory; and b) the origin and evolution of stars, star
systems, and galaxies.
Assessment Students will be tasked with going outside on a clear night and looking for
constellations and other Astronomical bodies. Students will also be required to
write a paragraph about their chosen Astronomic body including what it is, history
of discovery, how far away from earth the body is, and why they think that it is cool.

Presentation:
Introduction Ask the class who has been to a planetarium before, those that have can Time
(Hook) share their experiences at the planetarium. Assure the class that it is not 5-10
