Dear Potential Participant,
I wish to advise the following:
Proficiency Testing Program – Coal
Round 41 Samples Note: PTA sub-contracts sample supply and - one 125g coal sample homogeneity/stability testing for this program. - one 10g ash sample Schedule Tests Sample distribution is planned for beginning of a) Coal Sample: August 2020 and laboratories will be allowed Moisture, Ash, Volatile Matter, Gross Calorific four weeks to test the samples and return their Value, Total Sulfur, Relative Density, Chlorine, results. Detailed instructions, a results sheet Carbon (total), Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Carbonate (with confidential code number) and the samples Carbon, Phosphorus in Coal, Pyritic Sulfur, will be sent to each laboratory’s nominated Sulfate Sulfur, Trace Elements – Fluorine, contact. Mercury, Selenium, Arsenic, Boron, Cadmium, Antimony and CSN/FSI. Performance evaluation A report will be issued on the PTA website at the b) Coal Ash Sample: completion of the program and a summary sheet Ash Fusion (Reducing and Oxidising will be issued by post, which will provide an Atmosphere) - Deformation Temperature, evaluation of your laboratory’s performance. Spherical Temperature, Hemisphere Temperature, Flow Temperature. Pricing The fee for participating laboratories in this Ash Constituents – Silicon as SiO2, Aluminium program will be AUD$1400. Additional samples as Al2O3, Iron as Fe2O3, Calcium as CaO, are available for each individual laboratory Magnesium as MgO, Manganese as Mn3O4, (same site) for AUD$1120. Note that each Potassium as K2O, Sodium as Na2O, Titanium additional set of results that may be submitted as TiO2, Phosphorus as P2O5, Sulfur as SO3, for analysis will incur a fee of AUD$200. An Barium as BaO, Strontium as SrO, Zinc as ZnO. invoice for the appropriate amount will be sent to you upon registration. PTA payment terms and Benefits conditions are available on the PTA website at Participation in proficiency testing will satisfy the www.pta.asn.au. requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for monitoring your performance by comparison Registration and contact details with results of other laboratories.
