students. They express their desire well.
They teach them good manners such as co-operation and patience. School activities also renew our
energies and build up our bodies.
There are different kinds of school activities such as cultural, social and sports activities. Each student
chooses
the activity which suits his character. I’d like also our school to hold competitions in all fields of knowledge
and encourage all students to take part in them by giving them prizes. That’s what I dream of being real.

No one can deny that water is the source of life. Without water, there would be no life on the earth.
People, animals and plants need water to survive. Rivers, seas, lakes, wells and underground springs are all
sources of water. However, man began to pollute these sources by throwing waste, rubbish and drains into
them. To solve the problem of water pollution, people should be aware of the dangers of polluting water.
Polluted water can cause many dangerous diseases. As a result, factories should not be built by rivers or
seas. Governments should make restrict laws against polluting water. I would like to say we should not

Subject : A new road
,Dear Mr. Ahmed
I was interested to read the plans for your company to build a new road
to help the traffic in the city. You said that the first plan is to build it near my school because this
will take cars very quickly into the city. I agree that is a good reason, but we mustn’t forget that
it will cause a lot of noise and it can affect the students’ health because of the fumes from the
.cars
Surely the best place to build the road is next to the railway line. I agree that it will be
longer, but it will save us noise and air pollution near our school. Besides, people who use the
.railway can benefit a lot from this road
I hope you agree with my ideas. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Subject: A trip

Hi Ahmed,
How are you? I’d like to tell you about an exciting trip I has just made. I went in a safari trip
in Siwa Oasis with my family last week. We started the trip with a group of tourists that were visiting
Egypt and Siwa Oasis for the first time. I thought that the trip would really make my day. Our guide
took us in three vehicles into the desert. Unluckily, our vehicle broke down and the guide said that he
had to go with the two other ones to get help.
The guide was late and we seemed to get lost in the desert. It was nearly six p.m. and sunrise
was near. We were in a tight corner. We thought that we would soon die in the desert at night.
Suddenly one of the tourists could start our car and said he could drive very well. But we didn’t really
know the way back to our hotel. I asked everyone to keep their cool. As I had studied about the stars
at school, I could guide the group using our map and the location of the stars. We eventually reached
the hotel and found that all police officers in the city were looking for us. I was very proud to have
saved my family and the tourists with us.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours,
Reda

4- Write a paragraph about a time when you were really happy:

If I forgot, I’d never forget my early years. Ah, who can bring them back to me?!
My pre- school years were the happiest ones I’d ever spent. In those lovely years, I used to
travel around all Egypt a lot with my dad. I remember visiting the most famous Egyptian
cities such as Luxor, Aswan and Matrouh when I was young.
I also remember the first time when my father once told me that we were going to visit the
zoo. I felt really so excited because I was only five years old and it was the first time for me
to go there. Once I got there and my eyes set on a lot of real animals, not as fictional as I
watched them many times in cartoons, I felt absolutely amazed.
I remember another time when my father took me to the Egyptian Museum. How amazing
it was! On seeing all those exciting monuments in it, I felt extremely astonished. In fact, one
never forgets his early years. They’ll remain as our dearest memories forever.

4- Write a paragraph about the importance of tolerance.

In fact, cooperation together with tolerance is essential for the success of any work
and any company. Good teamwork requires that team members cooperate fully and
show tolerance to each other. Each member does his/her part cooperatively, which in
turn facilitates the work of the whole group. They do the work in a lovely atmosphere
and achieve their goals. Furthermore, people can't get on and agree all the time. Thus,
showing tolerance to inflexible people melts all the disagreements among the
members making them friendly and helpful with each other’s. Finally, when people
cooperate with each other, life will be better for all.

a respected job and I want to achieve my parents’ wish. Secondly, I want to help the sick to
recover from their illness. I want to draw a smile on the face of the sick. To achieve this dream, I

b. The importance of eating healthy food.

Health is very important and to enjoy a good health, the one should be careful with the food
he eats or the water he drinks. People should eat natural and fresh food instead of food that
contains artificial ingredients and preservatives. People can prepare the food they like at home
instead of eating outside especially in unreliable restaurants. Moreover, the water we drink is part
and parcel
of this topic because pollution destroyed everything around us. It is now known that the Nile water
.has become more polluted so it is very important to drink clean water
People should not drink directly from taps. They should boil it before drinking or at least have
water filters. Finally, I would like to say your food is your medicine so it is very important to eat
.healthy food and drink pure water

a. A school subject that inspires you.

My favourite school subject is probably English. I love to read and write. Writing is very
enjoyable
for me. I could write a chapter of just one sentence. I could write a short poem or a long novel.
English enables me to read in English literature through which I knew a lot of writers, thinkers
and poets. But for English, I wouldn’t be able to read any book.

to gain knowledge about a wide range of subjects. You can read books
about anything; kings, queens, fictional creatures, adventures, mysteries, thrillers, historical fiction,

each season, or you could write a long novel about a fantastical land far away where mystical
creatures live. Writing is a good outlet for creativity. Let’s say you like to paint, but you have
nothing in your bag except your books, some pens, and laptop. You’ve taken an interest in
creative writing. You’re inspired by seeing a fascinating view. You decide to describe it in detailed
writing.
English is definitely my favorite subject.

8- Write a paragraph of about ONE HUNDRED (100) words on only ONE (1) of the following:

a- What it would be like to live on an island with a group of children.

Life would be difficult to live on an island with a group of children as we need experience
and wisdom but if we had to live on this place, we would do amazing things. Firstly, we
should choose a leader to organise the work among us. This leader should be the most
popular of us. Then we should build a shelter to protect us from bad weather and fierce
animals. After that, we should look for food and water. A group of us can go and hunt
animals, others can make a fire. Finally, I would like to say that living on an island with a
group of children would be a dangerous but an exciting experience.
