Blackthorn
Blackthorn is a blend of super soft
alpaca and wool. The superfine
alpaca makes pieces soft and warm
while the wool gives them strength.
Blackthorn is from the MountainTop
Collection of undyed yarns, look for
its counterpart Wynter for the same
yarn in a beautiful palette of colors.

Skill Level
Easy

Finished Measurements
Before blocking: 30" wide x 47" long
After blocking: 34" wide x 51" long

Yarn
Blackthorn by Classic Elite Yarns
(50% superfine alpaca, 50% wool;
100 g = approx 120 yards)
6 hanks 7003 Ash

Needles
Circular knitting needle (40") in size
US 11 (8 mm) or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge
15 sts and19 rows = 4" in Stockinette
stitch. Take time to save time, check
your gauge.

CO 111 sts.

Rib:
Row 1 (RS): Sl1, *p1, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts and end p2.
Rib row 2 (WS): Sl1, *k1, p1; rep from * to last 2 sts and end k2.
Rep the last 2 rows until pc meas 3", ending with a WS row.

Body of throw:
Row 1 (RS): Sl1, (p1, k1) 4 times, *p5, k1, p1, k1; rep from * until 14 sts rem and
end p5, (k1, p1) 4 times, p1.
Row 2 (WS): Sl1, (k1, p1) 4 times, *k5, p1, k1, p1; rep from * until 14 sts rem and
end k5, (p1, k1) 4 times, k1.

Rep the last 2 rows, keeping 9 sts at each edge in rib as established, until pc
meas approx 44”, ending with a WS row.

Rib:
Work Rib as before for 3". BO all sts in Rib.

Finishing
Wash or block and dry flat.
