Method of Statement For ELV System
1. Ensure all civil works are completed for the area including floor paint to carry out
the installation, and clearance is obtained from respective authorities to proceed
further.
2. Prior to start the installation, refer to the approved shop drawings related top the
area of installation and ensure that required materials are available at site as per
approved material submittals.
3. Wiring Method: Install cables concealed in accessible ceilings, walls, and floors
where possible.
4. Wiring within Enclosures: Bundle, lace, and train conductors to terminal points
with no excess and without exceeding manufacturer’s limitations on bending radii.
Provide and use lacing bars and distribution spools.
5. Splices, Taps, and Terminations: For power and control wiring, use numbered
terminal strips in junction, pull, and outlet boxes; terminal cabinets; and
equipment enclosures. Tighten electrical connectors and terminals according to
manufacturer’s published torque-tightening values.
6. Installation of CCTV cables shall be taken up through the containment system for
Camera from Junction Box.
7. Proper care shall be taken while laying the cable to maintain the required safe
distance from electrical equipment and power sources to avoid the interference.
8. Ensure the cabling is done in proper way without any stress on the cable, while
laying at the turning etc., by keeping enough slack and proper bending radius.
9. CCTV cables shall be identified on both ends as per method shown in approved
shop drawings.
10. Continuity testing shall be carried for each cable by using continuity test meter and
result will be recorded for review and approval.
11. After completion of entire cabling and approval by consultant, cable termination
shall be carried out in Junction Boxes and at the Camera Points.
12. Junction Boxes will be identified by labels.
13. All work shall be carried out as per approved drawings.
14. Install cameras level and plumb.
15. Set pan unit and pan-and-tilt unit stops to suit final camera position and to obtain
the field of view required for camera. Connect all controls and alarms, and adjust.
16. Install power supplies and other auxiliary components at control stations, unless
otherwise indicated.
17. Dome Cameras shall be installed in the ceiling.
18. Wall Mount Fixed Cameras shall be installed on the wall by using Camera Brackets.
19. Installed Junction Boxes & containment shall be checked and approved by
consultant to proceed for the cabling works.

1. An earth pit for clean earth will be provided out side main Telephone room.
2. Earth resistance of the earth pit will be measured and ensured that the value is with
in permissible limit specified by local communication company.
3. Earth cable of size as mentioned in drawing & as required by local communication
company will be laid from earth pit to Main Distribution Frame.
4. Proper termination shall be done at earth pit as well as MDF by using suitable
terminal end connectors & as recommended by local communication company.
5. Metallic frame of MDF shall be earthed and other screens of cables shall also be
bonded together and connected to earthing terminals.
6. Tightness of all connections and earthing continuity shall be checked.

1. When cable is received at the job site, the cable length is verified to ensure the cable
will reach between the end points. Both ends of the cable will also be verified in
terms of the footage markings on the outer jacket and the computation of the actual
length of the jacket whenever available. The cable shall be identified, labeled, and
the shop drawings updated to reflect the work operation.
2. The pathway of a cable will checked first to be free of sharp bends and turns. The
manufacturer’s recommended pulling tension and minimum bend radius (while
under tension) shall not be exceeded
3. Horizontal cable is installed between the network room and work area outlets. Cable
shall not be bent. Should the cable be damaged during installation, do not attempt to
repair, instead replace the entire cable.
4. The cables and their reels will be labeled prior to pulling cable into place. It is easier
to identify and label the cables before they are pulled through the conduit.
5. The procedure for cable installation in open ceilings is different from that in
conduits. Cables shall be supported whenever available by suitable cable trays and
cable baskets.( A maximum of 60 Cables can be accommodated in a cable tray of
100x50mm).
6. Cable is generally easier to install from the top down rather than from the bottom up
because gravity helps with the pull. When pulling cable from top down, a reel brake
will be used. A reel brake is a mechanical device used to stop or slow a freewheeling
reel, thus keeping it from unreeling too fast due to gravity. In the room where the
cable will enter the vertical pathway, a bull wheel will be used to ensure that the
jacket is not damaged as it enters the pathway.
7. Horizontal Cable is used to connect network rooms to the different end users
outlets. In the room where the cable will enter the horizontal, a bull wheel may be
used to ensure that the jacket is not damaged as it enters the pathway. A pull wire

will be used and the cable will be pulled from end to end by taking all necessary
precautions as per the requirements of the cable manufacturer. Inspection Materials
located near the bends will be closely monitored during cable pulling in order to
avoid cable mishandling.
Cable Termination
1. Cable termination involves the organizing of cables by destination, forming and
dressing cables, and labeling, as well as actually creating a connection with a copper
or fiber conductor.
2. Cable termination preparation not only improves the quality of the job but also
decreases the amount of time required for termination.
3. The performance of pre-termination functions involves organizing the cable by
destination. Cable to be terminated should be placed at the point of termination and
must also be identified to ensure it is terminated in the designated position. Cable
connection is not complete until all terminations are identified and labeled.
