Flexi Capacity Extension Submodule (FBBA)

operation
Operation considerations for Flexi Capacity Extension Submodule ( FBBA ) 472182A.
Flexi Capacity Extension Submodule ( FBBA ) provides additional capacity to the BTS.
One FBBA brings an additional 576 channel elements (CE) for WCDMA. HSPA performance is 756
Mbps for downlink and 157 Mbps for uplink. When dedicated for LTE (FDD or TDD), it supports a
capacity of 3x20 MHz (or 6x10 MHz) with MIMO enabling 450 Mbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink
data speeds.
Up to two FBBAs are supported per one Flexi Multiradio System Module, and they are installed side
by side in the bottom slots of the System Module. Adding capacity submodules in the field does not
affect the ongoing traffic.
FBBA is powered by the System Module core module. The second submodule is powered by the first
one. Every extension submodule is connected to the core module through a QSFP connector.
