It appears the answer depends on which way you look at the problem.
But Math will not work if you cannot be sure of the answer.

What are BODMAS, BOMDAS, BIDMAS, PEMDAS and PEDMAS?
BODMAS, BOMDAS, BIDMAS, PEMDAS and PEDMAS
are Acronyms
for remembering the Order of Operations in mathematics.
B Brackets,
O Orders/Over/Of ,
D Division,
M Multiplication,
A Addition
S Subtraction.
What is an Acronym?
An acronym is a word made up of the initial letters of words in a phrase.
Acronyms can be pronounced as separate words.
Think of NASA and LOL.
They both are pronounced as if they were a word in their own right.
However, NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration
and LOL can stand for Laughing Out Loud.

What do the letters in
BODMAS, BOMDAS, BIDMAS, PEMDAS and PEDMAS stand for?
Note:
For this topic , Brackets and Parenthesis refer to the same thing e.g. ( ) or [ ]
Note :
Orders , Indices and Exponents all refer to situations
where a number is raised to a power.
e.g. in 32 , 3 is raised to the power of 2
32 means 3x3 =9
e.g. in 24 , 2 is raised to the power of 4
24 means 2x2x2x2 =16
Note:
Over/Of does not refer to any specific operation in Mathematics.
Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction all have the usual meaning.

How to Use BODMAS, BOMDAS, BIDMAS, PEMDAS or PEDMAS ?
These rules are meant to be used as a guide and they all can be used similarly.
Does the question have Brackets or Parenthesis? Work these out first.
Example:
Example: Calculate: 6×3+4×(9÷3)–8
Calculate: 9 × 2 – 10 ÷ 5 + 1 =
Solution: Solution:
9 × 2 – 10 ÷ 5 + 1 multiplication 6 × 3 + 4 × ( 9 ÷ 3 ) – 8 work out Brackets
= 18 – 10 ÷ 5 + 1 division
= 18 – 2 + 1 subtraction 6×3+4×3 –8 Multiplication
= 16 + 1 addition 18 + 4 × 3 – 8 Multiplication
= 17✔ 18 + 12 – 8 Addition
30 – 8 Subtraction
= 22 ✔
