1 Service inquiries
If when working on or with the robot queries or problems arise, the first course of action
should be to attempt to find answers or solutions to problems from the operating instructions
themselves.
If this does not lead to the required results, the appropriate Service Center (see Section 2)
should be consulted. Before contacting them however, in the interests of efficient communi-
cation, please attend to the following points in particular:
(1) Have the type and serial number of the robot ready (see robot identification plate; to
locate identification plate see robot Doc. Module “Technical Data”).
(2) Prepare a description of the exact nature of the problem and how it arose.
(3) Prepare a description of how you have tried to solve it.
(4) Have the operating instructions readily at hand.
(5) Prepare information as detailed as possible concerning the robot’s application, e.g.
location, operating conditions, area of application (technology) and duty cycle D.C. for
example.
Prepare detailed information with regard to how the inquirer can be contacted (e.g.
phone no., fax no., plant and deptartment details). This is important should it be
necessary to call you back!
The following action is necessary if it is suspected that a problem which has arisen
concerns the robot’s interaction with the controller:
(6) Remain by the connected KCP in case further particulars are required.
(7) Have the serial number of the control cabinet ready (see control cabinet identification
plate; to locate identification plate see Doc. Module “Safety, General”).
(8) Have the version numbers of the installed software ready.
They are obtained on the user interface by pressing the “Help” menu key and then
selecting the “Version” menu option. Should the user interface not be running, the icon
“kukabof.exe” is selected in the WINDOWS 95 Explorer with the righthand button of a
connected mouse. In the menu which then pops up, the “Properties” option must be
selected and from there the “Version” index card (tab).
(9) Have the message number and the exact wording of the messages in the message
window to hand. When you have got this information together, please then get in touch
with your local Service Center.
