1 Transport
1 Transport
The control cabinet can be moved to its site of installation by crane, in which case the lifting
tackle must always be fastened to all of the eyebolts (Fig. 1). The control cabinet can also
be transported by pallet truck (Fig. 2).
INCORRECT CORRECT
If the control cabinet is transported by fork lift truck, Fig. 2 must be observed. The lifting tackle
must always be fastened to all of the eyebolts.
If the control cabinet is transported by pallet truck, it must be ensured that the control cabinet
cannot topple over during transportation.

2 Installation
2.1 General installation conditions, robot / control cabinet
The operating environment must be free from aggressive and explosive gases and from an
atmosphere with a high particle content. The permissible threshold limit values at place of
work can be found in the relevant specifications.
The control cabinet can be butt--mounted on two sides, i.e. it can be mounted in a bank side
by side with other switchgear cabinets or controllers.
The air inlets and outlets at the rear of the cabinet and above it must be kept free so that the
flow of cooling air required in operation is not obstructed.
The requisite minimum clearances are shown in Fig. 1.

Transport / Installation / Exchange of Complete System
Before the removal work is started, it must be ensured that the incoming power
cable is deenergized and that measures have been taken to prevent it from being
inadvertently energized again. In addition, the main switch must be turned to “OFF”
and locked.
It must be ensured that the controller that is to be installed has the same specifi-
cation as the one that has been removed.
1. If a standby controller* is in storage for an extended period, the charge of the batteries
must be checked every three months.
2. Bring control cabinet to site of installation in accordance with the instructions in the Chap-
ter “Transportation”.
3. Ensure that the main switch is in the “OFF” position.
4. Open the cabinet door. Connect incoming power cable, which must be deenergized and
safeguarded to prevent it from being inadvertently reenergized.
5. Insert all connections on the connector panel.
6. Close the cabinet door.
7. The system can now be put back into operation.
*A standby controller means a control cabinet with identical specifications, kept ready for operation as a back--up. In
emergencies, a malfunctioning control cabinet can be exchanged for the standby cabinet within a very short time,
allowing downtime to be kept to a minimum.
