is Mr. Soekarno and beside him is Mr. Hatta both of them is founding father of the
nations he is Mr. Soeharto. And to gratitude all their efforts and to memorize, the

gmt). Jakarta located in the western part and Jakarta is 11 hours ahead New York.

6. Well ladies and gentleman, we have left Soekarno Hatta International Airport and
now we are going to Grand Hyatt Hotel. The location at M.H Thamrin street, kec.
Menteng, Central Jakarta. Grand Hyatt Hotel is very close to Selamat Datang
Monument, that’s also popular in Jakarta, which is know as Bundaran HI. Selamat
Datang Monument is one of the historic landmark of Jakarta. Grand Hyatt Hotel is
also close to the most popular icon in indonesia, which is the mascot of Jakarta city
that is National Monument. Well ladies and gentleman, let me to inform you a little
bit about Fatahillah Museum. Why, I inform you about Fatahillah Museum? Because
Fatahillah Museum is one of the historic Museum about Jakarta.
COMMENTARY FATAHILLAH MUSEUM
 Fatahillah Museum has an official named Jakarta History Museum (or in bahasa is
Museum Sejarah Jakarta). This museum located on Taman Fatahillah street No.1,
West Jakarta with an area more than 1300 square meters. This museum was built on
January, 23 1707. The architech of this museum is W.J Van de Velde and the
engineer is J.Kremmer.
 This building was a Batavia city hall, was built on 1707-1712 byb order of Governour
Jenderal Joan Van Hoorn. The inaugurated by Governour Jenderal Abraham Van
Riebeek on July, 10 1710.
 This city hall was used for administration office of Batavia city. This city hall have a
cell room. During the VOC this cell used for the main prison in the city of Batavia.
 This city hall then used as West Java Goverment office until 1942. On March, 30
1974, this building was inaugurated by Governor Ali Sadikin as a Fatahillah Museum
or Jakarta History Museum.
 Fatahillah Museum provides information about the long story of Jakarta, from pre-
historic until now.
 Beside that’s through the exhibition of the Fatahillah Museum also described
“Jakarta as the center for cultural meetings” from various ethnic group both from
within and from outside indonesia and the history of Jakarta as a whole.
 Objects that can be found in this museum there are, the history of Jakarta,
replicate of the Tarumanegara and Pajajaran relics, the results of archeological
excavations in Jakarta, antique furniture from 17th- 19th centuries, which is a fusion
of european style, the people of Republic of China and Indonesia. There are also
including ceramics, earthenware, an stone inscriptions.
