1. Define
A. Formal Essay
 "'Formal' essays were introduced in England by [Francis] Bacon, who adopted
Montaigne's term. Here the style is objective, compressed, aphoristic, wholly
serious. In modern times, the formal essay has become more diversified in
subject matter, style, and length until it is better known by such names as article,
dissertation, or thesis, and factual presentation rather than style or literary effect
has become the basic aim."

B. Informal Essay

 The informal essay is an essay written for pleasure. Its purpose is to help you

organize your thoughts on a specific topic, to reflect on readings, and to express
different points of view. It can still be informative and convincing, but you're
allowed to write it with less formal expressions.
2. Define 8 types of essay
 Narrative Essay - Narrative essay writing is an important part of the curriculum
of schools and colleges. Because it enhances the creativity and imagination of
students. As the famous writer correctly said that imagination is more important
than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the
entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to the evolution.
 Descriptive Essay- A descriptive essay is quite similar to a narrative essay.
Many people find it difficult to differentiate between these two types of essays.
A writer describes a character, place or event with in-depth details. A descriptive
essay is written in such a way that it simulates the picture in the readers’ mind. a
descriptive essay is written with respect to all senses. A reader should be able to
smell, feel, see, and hear what he is reading.
 Expository Essay- In expository essays, one explains an idea, process, literature,
article or events from his own point of view. Therefore, one should do a lot of
research and read everything available about the topic and present it from your
own perspective.
 Persuasive Essay- In persuasive essays, the writer writes about their own
opinion about an event, idea, or an issue. Persuasive essays and argumentative
essays are considered similar, but they are not quite the same. In an
argumentative essay, a writer will prove his points with facts and information .
 Argumentative Essay- Argumentative essays straight forward and more formal
than persuasive essays. in this type of essays, you prove your opinion, theory or
hypothesis with strong facts and information. A writer should be well versed with
the topic that he is writing about. That requires a lot of research and reading.
 Analytical Essay- In analytical essays, a writer analyzes a book, event, movie,
poem, play or any work of art from his own point of view. This type of essays is
written in a soft and simple tone.  Analyzing does not mean that you have to re-
tell the story. A writer should focus on analyzing the text and tell what the
writer wants us to see and feel.
 Critical Essay- Critical essays are a little similar to expository and analytical essays.
A writer evaluates things like books, movies, and work of arts and criticizes them
if he/she finds something in it to criticize about.
 Explicatory Essay- In explicatory essays, the writer explains a piece of literature, a
book, a play, a poem or a novel. Unlike critical essay writing explicatory essay
writing only focuses on the particular part of the text and explain it as he
perceives it in his own language. Two people can write two essays with a different
point of views on the same piece of literature.

3. Write a narrative essay.

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic is of a scale most people alive today
have never seen. Lockdowns and curfews to contain the spread of the virus impacted the way
children learn, the way their families earn a living, and how safe they feel in their homes and
communities. Despite the ongoing threat, countries around the world are starting to lift
restrictions. As we question whether we will ever go back to what we once knew to be
“normal”, it’s worth taken a step back to see how we can build on what we have learned to
build back a better world for children.

The novelty of being at home wore off and I started to struggle. I suffered from regular panic
attacks, frozen on the floor in my room, unable to move or speak. I had nightmares most nights, and
struggled to sleep. It was as if I was stuck, trapped in my house and in my own head. I didn't know how
to cope.

However, over time, I found ways to deal with the pressure. I realized that lockdown
gave me more time to the things I loved, hobbies that had been previously swamped by
schoolwork. I started baking, drawing and writing again, and felt free for the first time in
months. I had forgotten how good it felt to be creative. I started spending more time with my
family. I hadn't realized how much I had missed them.

Almost a month later, I feel so much better. I understand how difficult this must be,
but it's important to remember that none of us is alone. No matter how scared, or trapped, or
alone you feel, things can only get better.  Take time to revisit the things you love, and
remember that all of this will eventually pass. All we can do right now is stay at home, look
after ourselves and our loved ones, and look forward to a better future.
