Dear Governor Ron DeSantis,
My name is Celine Hang and I am currently a freshman in College. I am so excited to be given a
chance to work as your campaign manager for Florida Governor 2021. I have been working so
hard on your statistics and information and so pleased to introduce the main three types of
campaign advertisements that would benefit you in the upcoming election. The three
advertisements take turn are Endorsements, Plain Folk and Attack Advertisements. The total cost
for the advertisements in this campaign is 1 million dollars.
To begin with, Endorsements would be our top priority and get funded with $600,000 due to its
huge positive impact on your campaign. In President Trump’s midterm, he had stated clearly
where he stood for the race for the next Florida Governor. On June 22, 2018, the President
uploaded on his tweet saying that, “Congressman Ron DeSantis, a top student at Yale and
Harvard Law School, is running for Governor of the Great State of Florida. Ron is strong on the
Borders, tough on Crime & big on Cutting taxes - Loves our Military & our Vets. He will be a
great Governor & has my full endorsement”. You are one of the three Republicans that Trump
endorsed in succession on Friday. It’s been a long time since Florida citizens show great support
for the Republican and for Trump specifically. Many people considered the President’s
Testimonial as a major factor for their vote, which eventually would turn out to be your benefit.
The reason why I believe we should invest the most in this type of advertisement is because the
presidential election just passed, the heat is still not over yet. Trump’s words still impose a heavy
influence on the Florida citizens since the locals have always shown great interest in his
presidency. With Trump’s support, it is not hard for you to get all the support from the
Republicans in the State.
In addition, Plain Folk should be second choice on your list following with the fund of $300,000.
The Ad is meant to make you appear as most ordinary, closed to people that they can share what
they think and feel relevant to what you are doing and saying. You will be believed to be a
considerate governor that people can trust since they know that your thoughts and their thoughts
are the same, which means you only do something for the good sake of Floridian. In the
advertisement, it will be the best to mention your family, focusing on your mother and your
children. Talking about the education issue, you pressured the idea of reopening schools, which,
in other states, is an absolutely avoided problem. However, the fact that you also have two
children who still need to receive a proper and sufficient education will encourage people to
support your idea and your campaign. Moreover, with your mother working as a critical care
nurse, which is a noble career during the Covid-19 pandemic, there is enough evidence to prove
your understanding for people’s struggling and therefore, you are trying your best to recover the
education and economics of the State as what you said, “Some fear and anxiety can cause
problem, health, mental health, all these other things. And so obviously we want to have a
successful school year. Personally, as a father, I view the risk to kids as very low, fortunately. Just
making sure that we’re approaching it in a calm way.”
Last but not least, the final advertisement for the campaign is attack ads. I recommended funding
$100,000 on this issue since it focuses on a relatively sensitive topic during this time and could
benefit you a lot. Your opponent, Val Demings, has a unique appeal as an African-American
former police chief. In the summer of 2020, it has been a rising problem between the
African-American community and the police officers. Her running for Florida Governor 2022
has caused a lot of controversies. From 2010 to 2014, the Orlando Police Department paid out
more than $3.3 million in damages following at least 47 lawsuits alleging false arrest, excessive
force and other complaints against the department’s officers, according to WFTV. This sensitive
time period was during her term as the chief of the Orlando Police Department. From 2007, a lot
of Floridian was upset by her actions about Jessica Asprilla, a 27-year old young woman. She
was charged for spitting on Trinidad, an Orlando police officer and then falling down the stairs,
but in fact, he pushed her down the stairs. The Orlando police gave him a 16-hour suspension
and loss of two vacation days for falsifying his report of the incident. However, Demings signed
off on a memo lessening his punishment. By highlighting her conflicts with the police office the
people will eventually drag her reputation down and absolutely be a significant advantage to
your race.
I have been working on this project for several years and I am confident to say that these
advertisements will help the society to get to know who you are, what you are going through and
what you will bring to them better. These appropriate advertisements and fundings in each of
them will bring a huge boost to your campaign in the Florida Governor 2022.
