Borgo and Mahle Piston and Liner sets are exactly as supplied to Alfa Romeo. Each set includes four (or six) pistons, liners, wrist-pins,
and lower liner seals. All pistons are pre-tted and cylinders honed and ready for installation. Sets also include piston rings, but for

Our forged aluminum-alloy pistons are an update of the highly acclaimed “1400 Kit” which was popular when Giuliettas were new. The offset piston
pin and 7.7% increase in displacement greatly improves mid-range torque. This will give your engine a atter, broader torque curve with much
greater exibility. Compression ratio on a Normale is 9.5:1, and on a Veloce 10.0:1. No machining of the block is required. Included are pistons,
piston pins and clips, and Hastings Piston Rings. The 1400 pistons will t either 750, 101, or 105 1300 engines. Have your old liners bored, or install

HASTINGS PISTON RINGS
Not all piston rings are created equal. Our experience has shown that some aftermarket rings have excessive wall pressure, accelerating
liner wear. We believe Hastings rings to be the nest available, exhibiting superior sealing properties without trashing your liners. Hastings
compression rings are chrome plated to prevent binding in the ring groove and to decrease wall friction, and the three-piece oil ring
uses a long-lasting stainless steel expander for even sealing. On new piston sets, replace the original rings with Hastings for improved
performance and longer life. With used liners, the Hastings rings will seal perfectly up to the maximum allowable taper of 0.10mm.

Our new European two-liter camshafts are an excellent performance cam for all 1300 and 1600 engines.

perfect mate with our 1400 Piston Kit. On 1750 and 2000 engines there is a 5 HP increase with a broader
torque curve and no decrease in drivability.

Stock 1750 and 2000 cams have between 9.1 mm and 9.6 mm’s of valve lift. The increase to 11
mm provides a signicant improvement in airow through the combustion chamber, with a real seat-of-
the-pants increase in power. They give excellent power and drivability with either Spica injection or
dual-carbureted Alfa engines. With a smooth idle, they come “on-cam” at 2900-3100 RPM with a
very linear rush to redline.

OVERSIZE VALVES
Increase the breathing capacity of your Alfa. Our 1.0MM oversize valves are designed to be
used with standard guides and seals. The original valve seats must be cut to a 45 degree
angle. Our oversize valves are stainless steel with chrome-impregnated stems which will with-
stand temperatures of 1600°. There is no clearance problem with either standard or high-
compression pistons if the head has not been cut more than 0.030”.

PERFORMANCE VALVE SPRINGS
Worn valve springs reduce valve timing accuracy, valve sealing, valve cooling ef-
ciency, and can allow catastrophic valve oat at high RPM. Our high performance
valve springs increase valve seat pressure and are made of silicon-chrome steel,
heat set and shot-peened for strength and durability. They allow the use of 12.8mm
lift camshafts for race applications. These springs are ideal for use with stock cams,
and are perfect companions to our performance camshafts.

A CENTERLINE EXCLUSIVE. Veloce style engine mounts in exquisitely machined billet alumi-
num. Our mounts are designed to help convert 750/101 Normale to Veloce conguration. They
work by tilting the engine 9-10 degrees, providing necessary clearance for dual side-draft carbs.

HEAD SEAL KIT
Our square-cut, US made ”O” rings are a high-temperature, oil-resistant compound which will not harden or deteriorate
with age or temperature. The square cross-section provides a larger sealing surface, while the spiral pin prevents
seal deformation. Seal deformation can cause leakage or restrict oil ow to the cylinder head. Install the spiral pins to
protrude approx. 2mm above the head gasket. For all four cylinder engines.

REUSABLE VALVE COVER GASKET

Our valve cover gasket is completely reusable if it is not cut or physically damaged. It is made from a elastomer
compound to resist heat, ozone, oil, or age hardening. The soft, highly resilient material requires much less clamping
pressure than the standard gasket, eliminating cracked or warped valve covers. Install the gasket without any sealing
compound onto a clean head and valve cover. Re-torque the cam-cover after the rst drive.

There just is no point in replacing points anymore! Our magnetically switched electronic distributors are maintenance
free and very reliable. Don’t just add a “kit” to your old, worn out distributor. Our new distributors restore lost per-
ID416 formance due to wear, and have a more aggressive advance curve for better throttle response and increased perfor-
mance. Once installed, timing accuracy is permanently maintained. The magnetic switch is much faster than points
and allows for a longer coil dwell time between plug rings for a hotter spark even with a standard coil. ID405 and
ID416 have no external components and look stock under the hood. The Bosch Blue coil works perfectly with both.

Our ignition wire sets are warranted for 5 years. They’re bright red, with a very supple silicone jacket
and silicone spark-plug boots. The spark-plug terminal is a stainless steel snap ring connector which
will maintain a positive connection and won’t corrode. The berglass radio-suppressing conductor with
mono-liment wire wrap signicantly outlasts carbon-core variety wires. Besides being well made, the

resistance on each cylinder for proper ECU functioning. The Alfa original wires accomplish this by using

BOSCH PLATINUM +4 SPARK PLUGS
We’ve had great results with these in our own cars! Four ground electrodes provide multiple spark paths,
each spark nding the most efcient route. We have found Platinum +4’s have superior cold starting
performance and are less prone to fouling. The center electrode has 75% more platinum than the stan-
dard Bosch Platinum plugs, and with 4 ground electrodes, they have signicantly increased lifespan.

We’ve found NGK plugs to be a long lasting, inexpensive, and excellent quality spark plug. Their broad heat range and resistance to oil-fouling makes

original equipment quality. Clutches from “a subcontractor to the OE manufacturer” are not the same, and will result in

The clutch on the transaxle Alfas are a balanced assembly which should be replaced as a complete unit to avoid
driveline vibration. Assemblies sold for GTV/6 and all Milano’s are original equipment, made by Alfa. Three (3) liter
assemblies will work great on the 2.5 liter cars. We have found aftermarket V/6 clutches to have an excessively high
pedal engagement and shortened clutch life.

CRANKSHAFT PILOT BUSHINGS
The outside diameter of the crankshaft pilot bushing was changed during the 1750 model run. If you have a 1750
engine, measure the OD of your old bushing to insure receiving the correct part. Alfa factory manuals suggest soaking
the bushing in motor oil at 250 degrees for 4 hours before installing.

THROW-OUT BEARING ADAPTER

Our adapter is designed to allow the use of a 1750/2000 engine and clutch in a 750, 101, or 105 chassis Alfa. The
car retains the original cable-actuated clutch linkage, but can use the 2000 throw-out bearing and larger, stronger
diaphragm clutch. This requires machining a 1750/2000 ywheel to accept a 1300/1600 starter ring-gear.

Tired of that second-gear crunch and grind? Our original equipment synchronizer rings and sleeves are suitable for all Alfas built from 1968-94,
except for the 164. 101 and early 105 transmissions, from 1959 through mid 1967, use a different synchronizer material and lubricant. Early synchros
have a grooved, or stepped, outer surface. Late synchronizers have a rough nish without any grooves or steps. Early gearboxes can be converted
to late synchronizers if you replace all the rings, sleeves, and interior gear quadrants and straps, see below for conversion sets. The bearings

These Really Work!
The biggest limitation to Spider handling is it’s Flexible Flyer chassis. Without a roof to tie the body into a single rigid unit, the Spider body twists
with each bump and turn. Our chassis stiffener bolts to the steering and idler box mounts and each forward trailing-arm mount to create a rigid
box frame under the car. This will reduce chassis ex and provide the suspension with a much more rigid platform. One of the best things you

We don’t believe in “standard” brake pads. After much testing, we have chosen two excellent performance options. Axxis Deluxe Plus (formerly
Repco) for everyday driving, including the occasional rambunctious romp. They have a very progressive brake “feel” and excellent performance
over a broad range of brake temperatures. Our new Carbon-Metallic pads are for bodacious street driving plus those Alfa Club track days. A very
rm, rapid deceleration with superb heat recovery when driven aggresively without the “dead” feel some performance pads have when cold. For the

Our starters are remanufactured to factory specications. Starters are cleaned, lubed,
and the starter drive, brushes, and all shims and bushings are replaced. The armature is
turned and eld coils are inspected. Remanufactured starters are sold on an exchange
basis and a core deposit will be charged at the time of sale. To receive a deposit ATTENTION!

HOOD INSULATION MATS
Our reproduction hood mats are fashioned like the gray/
silver diamond-pattern hood mats originally used on Giulietta
and Giulia Spiders. The surface material is a very tough
berglass cloth stitched in a diamond pattern to provide
sound insulation. Glued to the hood, they hold up very well
in the hot, oily environment and will wipe clean with soap
and water. Improves the look of your engine bay and the
sound of your passenger compartment.

We’ve installed them all, and for ease of installation and a smooth accurate t, nothing beats Electron Convertible Tops. They follow the original factory
patterns, and are available in two different materials-Vinyl and Haartz Stayfast Cloth. Duetto through 1994 Spider tops include padded rear-quarter panels
as original. Our RM106 top installation book is included free with all 1971-1994 tops. There are no discounts on tops.
l VINYL TOPS are made from 35-oz. pre-shrunk pinpoint vinyl with cloth backing. All seams are stitched with no-rot Dacron thread, then heat sealed

Give yourself a treat and replace that ratty old carpet. All carpet sets have edges trimmed in matching vinyl, the oor
pieces are padded for comfort and quiet, and a rubber heel pad is sewn under the driver’s foot. Please state the

l NYLON LOOP OR CUT PILE: This economical choice is a synthetic material impervious to water. Nylon is available in a large
selection of colors in either loop or cut pile.
l NYLON PLUSH: A denser, very rugged nylon cut pile available in a variety of colors. The look and feel of wool without the expense.
l ACRYLIC TWEED: A tougher, longer lasting material than nylon loop or cut pile, it is a handsome speckled gray loop. Acrylic Tweed
looks excellent with black seats and gives the interior a warm feel. A very good value.
l 80/20 RAYON/NYLON: A heavy-duty, denser, more durable carpet than standard nylon. It is available only in black loop. A nice
upgrade in quality for not much more money.
l WOOL Uncompromising quality. Wool is a very handsome, rich, durable, and easy to clean 1/4” pile carpet. Dark brown looks superb with a

continuous mandrel bent tubes and hefty, thick anges for leak free sealing without special gaskets. 750/101 headers are unnished for a more original
appearance, 115 headers come nickle/chrome plated for good looks and corrosion resistance. Easy installation with a 10% to 15% increase in top end
