INTRODUCTION
India is called unite country with diversities which ranges from the snow-
capped mountains to the sun washed beaches, crispy old bazaars to
designer boutiques, serene temples to spirited festivals, tumbledown rural
villages to techno ability urban hubs this country is the planet’s most
multidimensional country. India is a country where culture echoes, tradition
speaks, beauty captivates and diversity delights. India is a vivid of landscapes
with significant historical sites and royal cities, mountains, colorful people
who are rich in culture and festivities. To gather these all phenomenal
diversities at one place and to spread the essence of our rich Indian culture,
we have cultural centers at various regions in which through arts,
exhibitions, dramas, theaters we describes different cultures of India.
Cultural center also displays the cultures around the globe, through various
forms .
AIM
Aim is to design the cultural heritage.
OBJECTIVE
To create a place for social and public gathering.
NEED OF PROJECT
City of Delhi attracts thousands of tourists every year from all over the world
because of the heritage status. So there is an urgent requirement of the
cultural heritage in the city which could depict the mythology and the rich
cultural heritage of the city and India for which it is famous for.
Centre for visual art: Will have a contemporary art gallery, sculpture
gallery, workshop area, ancillary area etc.
The thesis topic would help me explore the spaces required for artists
and craftmen to practice their crafts.
DELHI, INDIA
DDA said it will also hold discussions with similar institutions already
functioning in the city, like the National School of Drama, Sangeet Natak
Academy, Sahitya Kala Academy and other centres for performing arts for
their inputs in this regard.
The centre in Rohini, will be spread over approx 10acre and is envisaged as
the cultural centre of the part of the capital which will center the social need
of the local populace.

Rohini sub-city was a part of urban expansion programme, the first area that
was developed as a part of DDA’ strategy of urban expansion.
PLANNING
Rohini project is planned with 12 zones.
The central square must act as the commercial zone of the entire sub-city.
LOCATION AND CONNECTIVITY
The sub-city is located on North- West Delhi.
Rohini has three stations on the Red Line of Delhi Metro Line 1, which
connects from Dilshad Garden, Kashmere Gate to Rohini East, Rohini West
and Rithala metro station making it one of Delhi Metro's major hubs.
Rohini also has one station on the Yellow Line of Delhi Metro, Rohini Sector
18,19 which connects from Samaypur Badli to Huda City Centre Gurgaon
making it very well connected to all major places like Connaught Place, Saket
and Cyber Hub.
VEGETATION: most of the site is barren land with bushes and wild grass
cover.

SWOT ANALYSIS
STRENGTH:-
Location: the sites lie in Sector 10, Rohini which is almost the centre
of Rohini
Accessibility: The site is accessible from 2 primary roads.
WEEKNESS:-
Untreated sewage creates stench corridor and gives rise to water
born diseases.
OPPORTUNITIES:-
The canal can be revitalized and green belt along it can be used as an
open recreational space thus, inviting people and creating more social
space.
THREATS:-
A high tension line passes through the site, restricting the built mass.
