QUESTIONS
1) Identify what makes a great team
Great team is a combination of strong leadership, coordination, and access to
good support all contribute to successful teamwork, but it all comes down to having
people who understand and work well together. The elements that affect a great team
are reliable, responsible, competent, actively listen, mission oriented, respectful,
flexible, communicative, unselfish, and active participant.

In the reliable element, a team must be able to rely on all its members to do their
part. The main advantage of teams is that they can accomplish more than a person
might on their own. This only works if every member of the team is dependable.
Teammates must believe they can rely on one another to do what they say they would
do. The best way to build and develop confidence is to demonstrate dependability. In
this article, we will look at some ways team members demonstrate their dependability to
the entire team. Then, in responsible element under the great team dynamic, it is critical
that all parties concerned understand the work for which they are accountable and
make every effort to accomplish said tasks on time and to the desired standard. They
will work together for a common objective if the whole team is running properly and
taking responsibility for their own work.

Furthermore, in competent aspect under great team is competencies will aid in

the development of a strong corporate culture, the formation of a more aligned
workforce, and the establishment of key competitive differentiators. They also assist
with ensuring that you have clear performance expectations for staff, which can aid in
team engagement and retention. In addition, actively listen is a method of listening to
and reacting to another individual that promotes mutual understanding It is a critical first
step toward defusing the crisis and finding solutions to problems. This element can help
a great team leads to greater precision in information retention.

Next, mission oriented in great team can help the members to consistently
understand the purpose of an organization, provide suggestions and views in achieving
a goal and effective action in achieving it. Then, respectful is a feeling that occurs when
you treat others well because of their virtues or character attributes, but it may also be a
representation of dignity for people. Respect, regardless of personal feelings, should be
the rule in the organization. Both parties should support one another because it fosters
a positive work climate and boosts productivity.

Then, flexible team, for their part, can do whatever it takes to complete the
mission, whether that means taking on more duties, performing various tasks, or
working long hours. As a result, they have more to give their employer than workers
who are limited to one or several duties. Next, communicative is teams that
communicate completed tasks faster and more efficiently than others. They are often
more precise in their work than some. Effective communication often enables team
members to consider their own positions as well as the roles of those on the team. It
also allows for a better understanding of what needs to be achieved among team
members.

Also, unselfish team look past their own interests and emphasize on others; they
are humble, have a wider perspective, genuinely listen to others, and put themselves in
others' position. In addition, they are more sensitive to the needs of others than with
your own. Then, an active participant is anyone who is actively enrolled in a successful
retirement plan. Someone with active participant status is contributing to the scheme
and/or is entitled to obtain plan benefits.

Finally, great teamwork by leaders and followers is becoming increasingly

necessary in modern organizations, and when created, controlled, and implemented
properly, teams can provide a source of competitive advantage in terms of improved
team satisfaction, creativity, and innovation.
2) How to solve conflict when it occurs in teamwork
On teams, conflict is unavoidable. Conflict is characterized as antagonistic
interactions in which one party attempts to obstruct the acts or decisions of another.
Bringing problems to the surface so that they can be resolved is an important part of the
team leader's or manager's role.

There are several ways to deal with conflict within a team, including avoiding the
issue, acting passive aggressively, or even blaming the other people involved. Healthy
constructive criticism promotes new ways of thinking and finding solutions to
challenging problems.

Firstly, recognize conflict. When conflict occurs, do not stop it or pretend it did not
occur or happen. As time passes, tensions will rise, and the conflict will only worsen.
Deal with these upsetting problems as fast as possible before they become entrenched
in surround working life. Then, communicate. Schedule a date and location where you
can speak for an extended period without interruptions from outside sources. Once you
do meet, give each person enough time to say what he or she thinks the other party
needs to hear. Allow no one to monopolize the discussion or dominate the subject.
Everyone should express his or her feelings about the disagreements and the
circumstances.

Next, come to an understanding. A conversation will mainly concentrate on

conflicts, but resolution is only possible when points of consensus are found. Both
people should be able to take any positives away from the experience rather than just
negatives. Seeking agreement shows your ability to search out common ground and
establish a partnership based on certain elements of trust.

Finally, closure, any dispute necessitates a straightforward resolution that

recognizes wounded feelings and seeks a way to begin to heal them. Accept my
apologies. Tell the other person genuinely sorry for any hurtful comments or acts that
been said or done and mean it. Agreeing solely for the sake of appearances can lead to
grudges that fester over time, undoing whatever progress made as a team.
3) What are some personal leadership characteristics needed to have a great
team to achieve the goals?
A great leader may lead a team in the right direction, no matter what position
they are in. In order to achieve any goals, it influences by some leadership
characteristics such as honesty, communication, confidence, commitment, inspire and
responsible.

In honesty. it is a foundation of my core beliefs and ideals. Honesty encourages

transparency, empowers us, and allows us to develop clarity with how we present truth.
Honesty sharpens our vision and helps us to see clearly what is going on around us. It
is important to be transparent in the workplace. People would follow a leader who sets a
good example.

In communication, team members would struggle to grasp your mission,

objectives, and vision if there is no consistent communication. A leader's ability to
communicate effectively is essential for a variety of reasons. When it comes to setting
job goals or providing positive input, communication should be consistent. A team
member would have a broad understanding of what they are working on if they
communicate effectively.

Then, confidence, it is duty as a leader to keep the team motivated and moving
forward. Maintain a trust and remind everyone that setbacks are being investigated. The
team would not be concerned if individuals remain calm and optimistic, as they have
placed their confidence in person.

Furthermore, commitment requires making a personal decision to accept the

transition regardless of the consequences. It is contradictory to demand reform from
others when failing to demonstrate the same degree of commitment. Concentration
necessitates maintaining emphasis during the transition, not just at the start.
Commitment is a standard of leadership that both encourages and attracts people. It
demonstrates that the leader has convictions and believes in the cause.
Next, when a team is drowning in work or morale is poor, a leader must be
inspiring and begin looking for ways to empower the team. It is important to inspire and
keep spirits up, and this starts with gratitude for the hard work they have put in. In
addition, it is energizing and instilling a sense of direction and mission in staff, as well as
generating enthusiasm and enthusiasm for change.

Lastly, great leaders understand that when it comes to their business or

workplace, they must accept personal responsibility for failure. A good leader does not
make excuses; instead, they accept responsibility and try to solve the issue as quickly
as possible. Responsibility is unquestionably an important leadership quality. However,
we may infer that leadership is the ability to direct a group of people toward a common
goal. This is accomplished using individuals with leadership qualities. Leaders inspire
followers to be committed and enthusiastic about achieving goals.
4) Evidence of what can happen with the right people on the right team
Right people on the right time are important in daily life. It will influence the
condition It will affect a situation either to find a solution or worsen the situation. There
are various examples in the A-team film related to the right people at the right time.

As seen in the beginning of the movie, when the A-team meet for the first time,
Hannibal helps Face from being killed by a Mexican Gangster with help from B.A when
it is discovered Face has had an affair with his wife. Later, they are assisted by Murdoch
by using a Helicopter to escape from the gangsters. From this scene, we can find that
help from the right people can solve problems such as Murdoch’s skills of operating a
helicopter and Hannibal in making plans to cross the American boarder has managed to
free them from these gangsters.

Then, we can see the way they escaped from prison from the help of their
teammates. Hannibal escapes from jail with the aid of a substance cigar smuggled in by
Lynch, which causes him to appear dead after suffering a heart attack. Hannibal then
escapes Face from another military jail by impersonating a removal man and stealing
the tanning bed in which Face is currently incarcerated. Following that, Hannibal, and
Face free B.A. by tearing the door off the jail bus carrying him to another prison. The
group then frees Murdock from the V.A. mental hospital in Germany where he has been
committed by disrupting the hospital staff and inmates with a 3D movie, after which the
team crashes their van through the building's wall, allowing Murdock to enter and
escape.

Also, we can see that team has different set of skills that help teammates,
Hannibal as a leader has conceptual skills, calm and have an escape plan for every
situation. He helps the team in dealing with each conflict in each situation and affects
the morale of teammates. Next, Face, have good disguise and communication skills to
manipulate the enemy. It will assist the group in obtaining information and planning
counterattacks against the enemies they face. Then, B.A who is efficient in driving and
has incredible strength. It allows the group to fight and defeat the enemy physically.
Furthermore, Murdoc who has a brave personality and is skilled in handling explosives
and heavy machinery. It simplifies the group's affairs in defeating enemies according to
the skill it possesses.

Lastly, Lastly, based on the A-Team movie, the right person is very important for
the right time because it will resolve all the conflicts that occur. In addition, it will help in
realizing the goals become real and not burden any team with the skills possessed by
each team member.
5) Evidence from the movie, that the right person can influence even the worst of
team members.
Right person can influence even the worst of team members is very important in
an organization. It helps in influencing one’s morale in consistency in achieving goals
and avoiding any conflicts in the organization. As a good example, Hannibal as a leader
of A-Team.

Hannibal, have a calm nature in the face of conflict situations. Plus, it makes it
easier for him to analyze the situation and make the right decisions. In A-Team, it has
team members with various types of traits and behaviors. For example, against Murdoc
who has a crazy personality where Hannibal gives Murdoc the freedom to perform his
crazy actions to save and help other team members in trouble. It also makes Murdoc to
have consistent morale in achieving teams goals with his own skills. Here, we can see
from the scene where Hannibal gives Murdoc the opportunity to fly a helicopter with his
own set of skills and it manages to save them from falling prey to gangsters in Mexico.

In addition, Hannibal is also able to influence and control B.B who is naturally a
hot tempered person. It is not an easy task to control and ensure B.B follows the
instructions given. However, Hannibal needs to be more assertive and show his
credibility as a leader with a walk the talk. As such, we can see in the scene Hannibal
shooting B.B’s arm to make sure B.B follows his directions and speaks the truth with the
treatment he shows. It makes B.B respect Hannibal more as a leader whose action
speaks louder than action.

Finally, a leader needs to be smart in handling team members. On average they

have different personalities. So, it requires a different approach to ensure that a team
follows the instructions and work together in achieving a goal in an organization.
6) Teamwork obstacles seen in the movie

In A-Team movies, there are several obstacles that occurred in teamwork. There
are some conflicts in the environment that disrupt the harmony within the team but
managed to be resolved well by each team member.

For example, the personality differs from each member of the group between
Murdoc and B.B. Murdoc is portrayed as a character with a crazy personality and his
decisions often endanger other members of the group. While B.B, is a serious person
and often feels Murdoc’s actions annoy him. However, the nature of professionalism
between them makes every goal in the group successfully overcome.

Further, we can see obstacles in teamwork when the A-Team is convicted, tried,
disgracefully discharged, and sentenced to ten years in federal jail as a result of being
scapegoats in their last mission. Here, we can see how they need to trust their own
team members to deal with all the accusations against them and solve the problem.

Next, A-Team was also shown that all this time the mastermind behind this
organized crime was led by their own superior officer, General Morrison. It comes as a
shock to them for being trapped by their own insiders. However, it was successfully
overcome and resolved well where Morrison died, the evil ally died and Lynch was
faced with legal action.

Finally, obstacles can also be overcome with good cooperation from each
member of the group. It is also seen as a potential for new opportunities and knowledge
for the team in dealing with problems in the future. It depends on the decision, goals
and efforts of each member of the group to accomplish a task just like in the real world.
