COURSE DESCRIPTION
This 3-unit course utilizes selected primary sources
in different periods, analysis and interpretation; that
includes written, oral, visual, audio-visual and digital,
covering various aspects of Philippine life (political,
social, economic and cultural). It aims to expose
students to the different facets of Philippine
History through the lens of witnesses. Students
therefore, are expected to analyze the selected
readings using content and context analysis. It
enables students to understand and appreciate our
rich heritage by deriving insights from those who
were actual witnesses at the time of the event.
COURSE DESCRIPTION

It analyzes Philippine history from multiple


perspectives through the lens of selected
primary sources coming from various
disciplines and of different genres. Students are
given opportunities to analyze the author’s
background and main arguments, compare
different points of view, identify biases and
examine the evidence presented in the
document.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The discussions will tackle traditional topics in
history and other interdisciplinary themes that will
deepen and broaden their understanding of Philippine
political, economic, cultural, social, scienti c and
religious history. Priority is given to primary materials
that could help students develop their analytical and
communication skills. The end goal is to develop the
historical and critical consciousness of the students
so that they will become versatile, articulate, broad
minded, morally upright and responsible citizens.

This course also includes a mandatory topic on


Philippine Constitution, Agrarian Reform and
Taxation.
