I. OBJECTIVES 1. Describe the nature, movements, and health benefits of cheer dancing.
2. Appreciate by enumerating the value of dancing in the improvement and
maintenance of one’s health and fitness
3. Create cheer dance routines through improvisation

III. PROCEDURE
A. PRELIMINARIES
Review:  To recap our lesson last meeting, it was all about physical fitness that
sustain fitness.

 Cheerdance video clips


Motivation:  What is shown in the video?
 How many of you have experienced dancing a cheerdance?
 Can you share that experience in class?

Presentation:
B. LESSON
PROPER
1. ACTIVITY  Form groups of 10 members
 You will watch again the video on Cheerdance
 As you watch the video, fill out the columns below using a manila
paper.

Nature Movements Health Benefits

 After 5 minutes, assigned a reporter to report on your output.

 Based on the group report, what is/are the nature of cheerdance?


2. ANALYSIS  What are its movements?
 How can a student like you benefit from performing cheerdances?
 What is cheerdance? What is cheerleading?
3. ABSTRACTION  What are the 3 elements of cheerdance?
 What are the essentials movements in cheerdancing?

 Now that you have the necessary knowledge and skills about the basics
4. APPLICATION of cheerleading, it’s high time for you to create your own cheerdance
steps.
 With the same members of the group, create a one minute and thirty
seconds cheerdance routine for your group.
 You will be given ten minutes to accomplish your mission.
 To master a routine, your group will be given one minute and thirty
seconds to perform what you have rehearsed with the beat of the given
music.
IV. EVALUATION/  GROUP PERFORMANCE
ASSESSMENT A. Present your routine to the class. Your performance will be
assessed considering the following criteria:

Completeness (considering the 3 elements) – 35%


Mastery and synchrony – 30%
Difficulty – 15%
Teamwork – 20%
Total – 100%

B. In 5-10 sentences, describe the nature, movements and health


benefits of the cheerdance you have created.

Study on the different cheerdance basics (gymnastics side and dance side) on
