Problem Solving Involving System of Linear Inequalities in Two Variables
Problem Solving Involving System of Linear Inequalities in Two Variables
INVOLVING SYSTEM
OF LINEAR
INEQUALITIES IN TWO
VARIABLES
(SEMI- DETAILED LESSON PLAN)
Karen KC R. Pineda
BSED MATH 3A
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to be able to;
identify the regions on a graph that represent the solution to a system
of inequalities,
sketch a graph to represent a system of linear inequalities in order to
solve them,
identify the system of linear inequalities represented by a graph.
A. Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
linear inequalities,
graphing linear inequalities.
B. Exclusions
Students will not cover
applications on systems of linear inequalities,
systems including anything other than two-variable inequalities

III. Procedure
i. Preliminaries;
a. Opening Prayer
b. greetings
c. Checking of Attendance/Reminders for Online Class
Etiquette
d. Review / motivation
Teacher will ask what topic all about our last lesson is
and give some examples.
A "mistakes are okay" class culture It's one thing to say that
mistakes are okay. But effective teachers also show students
how "wrong" answers are actually just clues to solving a
puzzle
Example; Miguel can spend at most php. 30.00 for his food during
recess. It cost php. 10.00 for snacks and php. 5.00 for any drinks. How
many possible combination of snacks and drinks can be bought?
Equation: 10x+5y ≤ 30
Example : Anita works as a online tutor for $$4 per hour. She also works as a editor
for $$7 per hour. She is only allowed to work 15 hours per week. She wants to make
at most $$75. Graph a system of inequalities to represent this situation and write at
least two solutions.
Let works as a online tutor = x and as an editor be y.
4x + 7y ≤ 75
x + y ≤15
The shaded area represents all non negative values of and ,which can be
translated to the inequalities≥0,≥0.
In order to see this, let’s consider each inequality separately and see where
they overlap. ≥0,which is all non negative values of including the -axis, is
shaded in the first and fourth quadrants.
V. Assignment
The teacher will ask the students to more about two variab
