A3 - Climate Change

The document contains Meljoy T. Salcedo's responses to 4 questions about climate change, individual and societal contributions, and potential threats. Salcedo discusses how individual lifestyle choices can help address climate change, and that climate change is not fully preventable due to natural variations in solar emissions and planetary orbits. Salcedo also emphasizes the importance of governments protecting habitats that mitigate climate change impacts like flooding and storms.

1.What significant contribution can individuals make in response to climate change? (5 points)

As an individual, our response to that may depend on personal choices, which includes our
residential home energy usage, consumption of products and services, and parental education can play
a big role. Human beings may also participate in local and political climate change activism. For business
owners that have big buildings, they need to have higher heating and cooling performance because it
consumes less energy and generates fewer greenhouse gases. And making low-emission growth and
any types of vehicles more convenient, policies will assist individuals and cities in reducing their carbon
footprints. Improved public transit, bicycle lanes, and walkability, for instance, will help cities grow
smarter while reducing overdevelopment and congested roads.

2.Is climate change preventable? Support your answer. (5 points)

No, because To effectively prevent climate change, many very serious falsifications with mother
earth on a wide scale will be required to avoid natural climate changes from occurring, such as the way
solar emissions differ over time and the way the planet earth moves and revolves around the sun. We
need to regulate the environment, we'd have to manipulate the sun, the earth's orbit around that, as
well as the temperature of the oceans. Anything that is starting to happen now has actually occurred
before and will continue to happen in the future.

3.What should be the significant contribution of the society as well as the government in
mitigating the hazards caused by climate change? (5 points)

Bodies of water, lakes, seas, trees, and mangroves consume vast amounts of pollution,
decreasing warming. Governments should always protect habitats critical to the battle against climate
change. Wetlands trap excess water from flooding, and mangroves act as a buffer against severe
cyclones, all severe weather events intensified by climate change. We could help by continuing to
support small independent producers who, unlike massive factory farms, use renewable resources,
worry about land restoration, support nearby neighborhoods, and bring livestock and cropland quite
climate efficient.

4.Personally, what could be the greatest threat of climate change when negligence continues as
well the absence of  appropriate counter measures? (5 points)

When the rising sea levels and antartic ice shelf collapses. It will definitely affect our food
production, freshwater availability, livable weather conditions, and ocean species diversity. It has a
critical effect on our health. Drought, high temperatures, and stagnated heat all contribute to an
increase in the frequency, intensity, and length of disturbances. Heatstroke and dehydration are some
symptoms of higher temperatures, which may lead to death in extreme situations.
