    REFLECTION PAPER

    “Mapatay man kita gyapon”

    Death. One word but gave us fear everytime we hear about it. We all know that death is
    inevitable. We cannot stop death and it is happening right now. We are born to die. There will be
    no death if there will be no birth. As we are born, we are already starting to undergo process of
    dying, until it continuously reaches the inevitable death in the right time. No one will stay like a
    stone here on earth.

    Our time here on earth is limited. The quote alarms us that we will be going to die. Let us
    all admit that most of us are afraid of death because we’re still not living our life authentically.
    We are afraid of death because there are still many things we’re planning to do. We are all afraid
    that maybe one day our heartbeat will fall on its flat line. We’re afraid because we are all not
    ready. Because of our fear of death, without us noticing, we are distracting ourselves by doing
    different things that could cover up our anxiety and our fears. We are in denial of death. We
    know death is inevitable. They say that people who are not afraid of death are the ones who are
    living their lives authentically for they are ready to die because they are too grateful already and
    fulfilled for they have lived their life completely, rightly and to the fullest. But on the other hand,
    most of us are in worry of death that made us miss our life on how it supposed to be lived.

    The quote stated above do not give us something to fear upon instead this is a call
    for each one of us that we all must accept the truth, and that truth is our death. We all must live
    our life to the fullest so that if death comes, there will be no regrets upon us. We must accept that
    nothing is permanent in this world. We must accept everything so that we will be free from
    worry. We must accept that everything happens for a reason. We should allow ourselves to be
    happy. We should allow ourselves to laugh and smile, a genuine kind of smile.

    In overall I conclude that whatever we do, we will die. We will all die but on the right
    time which was supposed to be the timing of our Lord. We all know that we can’t stop death but
    we can make our life happy before the death comes. Acceptance is the key to real happiness. If a
    person accept that he will be facing death, then he will be authentically happy because he had
    been lived his life fully. He do not have something to worry about death because he’s ready for it
    because his life was already fulfilled.
