INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATE

assessor only.
3. Complete the task/project described in this booklet
4. After you finish this assessment, you are not allowed to copy
anything from this booklet or tear any page.
5.You are given fifteen (15) minutes reading time and total 4:00
hours to accomplish the project

Project Information
Given the necessary equipment’s, tools, materials, supplies and
information the candidate is expected to perform the following FOUR
projects.
Assessment place: Well-equipped training center, real work site with
well-equipped hardware and software tools

Project 1(Time allotted 45 minutes)

Task-1Create the following directory (folder structure) under my document.

ITM DB HWN ITS

Task-2. Document your system information includingHard disk capacity, RAM size,
Processor speed, OS name, OS manufacturer, BIOS version, Available physical
memory, Total virtual memory and save it by the name System info. under PeerNet
folder.
Task-3 Rename folder ITM by Level 5 and change folder icon.
Task-4 Hide folder ITS.
Task-5 Make folder Level 5 private.

Project 2 (Time allotted 15 minutes)


Task-1 Show file extension name.
Task-2 Write the path of SAM and ntevt.dll files.
Task-3 Hide windows security alert, make start menu classic, hide desktop icons and change
taskbar position.

Project 3 (Time allotted 30 minutes)


Task-1 Create the following user name and password (hint: apply password policy)

Task-2 Allow folder DB for Solomon and Deny for Zerihun.


Task-3 Allow folder HWN for both Solomon and Zerihun.

Project 4 (Time allotted 1:00 hour)


Task-1 Install office 2007 only Excel, Publisher and Access .
Task-2. Upgrade office 2007 by office 2010.
Task-3. Write a system requirement for office 2007 and save it by the name of office under
folder ITM.
Task-4. Install MacAfee antivirus software and set update and scan schedule weekly.
Task-5 Prepare software inventory including software name, category, installed date,
version, ( use MS-excel to record and save).

Project 5 (Time allotted 45 minutes)


Task-1 Create dial-up connection by using the following table information.

Task-2 Share the dial-up connection.
Task-3 Configure ADSL.
2.1 Set IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS,
Task-4 Make www.AAU.com your home page.
Task-5 Connect printer and print the document that you saved under ITM folder.
Task-6 Prepare hardware inventory including manufacturer, type, name, Model and
description (use MS-excel to record and save).

Project 6 (Time allotted 45 minutes)


Prepare client support document using the following service level agreement and
save it by the name document under DB folder.
