1.0 Aim:
To perform circuit analysis techniques for a given network problem using suitable simulation
approach. Students should respond and reflect their understanding on the implementation of the
circuit analysis techniques.
2.0 Objective:
2.1 To analyze the response of an RLC circuits in dc and ac analysis.
2.2 To simulate RLC circuit using electronic simulation software.
2.3 To demonstrate the RLC and ac circuit analysis/ simulation.
3.0 Problems
Q1.Figure 3.1 shows an RLC circuit. Assume that the current source of 4 A is applied to the
circuit. The inductor has an initial current, i(0)= 2 A and the initial capacitor voltage,

(a) Given VS1 = 120 sine (100t + 90°) V and VS2 = 80 sine(100t) V, simulate the
steady state currents and voltage: i1, i2 and vo. Compare with your calculations (i.e.,
using mesh, nodal or superposition analysis).
(b) Plot the steady state currents and voltage response.
4. 0 Task/Project requirement:
4.1 Design and simulate your circuit using any electronic software i.e. Proteus, Multisim,
PSpice, or other related/available software.
4.2 Prepare report documentation.
4.3 The requirements for video:
(i) video should be no more than 10 minutes.
(ii) must include circuit simulation
(ii) the video can be structured in any format, eg., an interactive tour, slideshow with
voice, screen recording, etc.
At the end of this session, the students are expected to use the knowledge and skills to:
i. simulate and analyze a second order circuit and ac analysis.
ii. use software tools in the simulation and documentation.
iii. conduct professional presentation.
iv. prepare technical report.
v. work as professional, keen to ethical responsibilities and commitment to the group.

7.0 Guidelines
i. Students will work in a group of THREE (3) members.
ii. Plagiarism and ‘sleeping-partner’ is prohibited in this project implementation. All students
should involve with discussions and project contribution.
iii. Group who committed plagiarism would score no mark in the project’s assessment.
iv. The overall evaluation in this project is summarized in Table 1.0.
v. Details of assessment rubric is attached in Appendix A.
