The terminal and components may be used in specified combinations subject to the calculation of
maximum dissipated power and the conditions of certification listed. The maximum dissipated
power for each enclosure is detailed above.
The enclosures can be drilled and taped with the maximum size and maximum number of holes as
specified in the manufacturer documents for the use with separately certified cable glands or
blanking plugs. Each enclosure is provided with an internal earthing certified terminal or earthing
point. Metal enclosures are provided with an external earthing point.

Conditions of manufacture
The following are conditions of manufacture
i.
Where the product incorporates certified parts or safety critical components the
manufacturer shall ensure that any changes to those parts or components do not affect
the compliance of the certified product that is the subject of this certificate. A copy of
the certificate and instructions for each separately certified part installed within the
equipment shall be provided as part of the document pack with each arrangement
supplied.
ii.
The manufacturer shall fit only the certified Ex Components listed in the Equipment
Description in accordance with the certification documentation and the manufacturer’s
instructions. All Special Conditions of Certification/ Special Conditions for Safe Use/
Schedule of Limitations must be satisfied for each part fitted.
iii.
The total dissipated power for each enclosure shall be calculated in accordance with
IEC 60079-7 Annex E, and the methods detailed in the Schedule Drawings. It shall not
exceed the maximum power rating defined in this certification.
iv.
Tapped or clearance hole entries may be provided through the side walls or the rear of
the enclosures, as permitted by the Schedule Drawings, for the use of suitably certified,
Ex e IIC Gb (minimum) entry devices suitable for an ambient range and environmental
rating (IP) as marked.
v.
All creepage and clearance distances as defined in IEC 60079-7 Table 2 for Ex e
circuits or IEC 60079-11 Table 5 for Ex i circuits shall be observed for the voltage rating
marking.
vi.
The equipment must be marked in accordance with the Ex Component parts that are
fitted and certification documentation. The power and voltage rating marking on the
label shall be allocated in accordance with the table detailed in the description and the
lower maximum allowable via the component parts fitted.
vii.
If the terminals or components are fitted with cables/wiring by the manufacturer;
All cables/wires shall be suitable for rated voltage and current of each separate circuits
and Ex Components to which they are connected.
All creepage and clearance distances as defined in IEC 60079-7 Table 2 for Ex e
circuits or IEC 60079-11 Table 5 for Ex i circuits shall be observed.
For each Ex e circuit, a routine dielectric strength test shall be carried out on each unit
in accordance with IEC 60079-7:2015, clause 7.1.

viii.
The terminals and/or components fitted shall be suitable for the lower operating
temperature marked on the certification label and must have a minimum operating
temperature suitable for the temperature class as specified in the table below:
Conditions of Certification
The following conditions relate to safe installation and/or use of the equipment.
The user/installer shall ensure that the Junction Box or Control Station shall comply
with all Special Conditions of Certification/ Special Conditions for Safe Use/ Schedule
of Limitations for the certified equipment or Ex components that are installed in the
enclosures.
No repairs are possible to the flameproof joints of any component part. Consult with the
manufacturer.
All cable glands and plugs/stoppers for unused entries shall be suitable for use with the
equipment and shall be:
certified as groups II and III, category 2 G.
have a minimum ingress protection of IP 66.
Have a service temperature range, equal to the lower ambient and the following
maximum temperatures:
marked T6/T80°C - 80°C
marked T5/T95°C - 95°C
marked T4/T130°C - 130°C
