Part 5
Questions 26–30
Six weeks ago, the teacher in our geography lesson told us to find out facts
about the sea. So I went home and read a book about the world’s seas. Then I
went online and saw a video about how the sea is full of plastic that people
have thrown away, and this made me very worried about the problem.
I told my mum, dad and sister Megan that people should use less plastic. Dad
said it was impossible, but Megan didn’t agree. She said we should spend a
month without buying anything plastic. Mum thought it was a good idea too, so
that’s how our ‘plastic-free’ month began!
We stopped buying fruit in plastic boxes and bread in plastic bags. But some
stuff, like medicine, is only sold in plastic bottles. Sometimes we needed to buy
things like that but those were the only times we broke our ‘no plastic’ rule.
Now that it’s finished, I’ve agreed to give a talk about our ‘plastic-free’ month to
my whole school. When I’ve done that, I’m going to put my opinions in a blog
so that even more young people can find out about this important subject.
C Hannah’s dad
[1]
C plastic bottles.
