Question - 1: SO2 levels (µg/m3) are measured in 3 environmental monitoring stations in the same
region (Station – A, Station – B, and Station – C).

a) Find the arithmetic mean, median, and mode of each station. (15 p)
b) Find the variance, standard deviation, and coefficient of variance (COV) of each station.
Discuss the variability of SO2 levels at 3 stations and which station’s data would be more
accurate (less variable)? (20 p).
c) Draw the Box-whisker plot and show if there is any outlier(s) observed in each station.
(30 p)
d) Calculate the frequency and cumulative probability densities of each station. (range of
each class = 5). Show the frequency histograms and cumulative probability densities (%)
of the of each station on the plots. Also, by using the cumulative frequency histograms,
find the percentage of SO2 level > 10 µg/m3 in each station. (35 p)
