A squall passed over Malda(Sub Himalayan West Bengal) on 20-04-2022 at 0215 hrs IST
from southwesterly direction with maximum wind speed of 44 kmph and lasted for 01
minute.
Hailstorm along with gusty wind occurred at one or two places over South Dinajpur district
[Place- Kumarganj(Diameter: 2-3cm) etc.] of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. (Media reports)
Heat wave to Severe Heat wave conditions occurred at one or two places over Jharkhand.
Severe warm night conditions occurred at one or two places over Jharkhand.
Shallow to moderate fog occurred at one or two places over Sikkim & the hilly regions of
Sub Himalayan West Bengal.
Very Light to Moderate rainfall occurred at most places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal,
at a few places over Bihar and at one or two places over Odisha & Jharkhand. Very Light to
Light rainfall occurred at many places over Sikkim and at a few places over Andaman &
Nicobar Islands. Weather remained dry over the rest of the region.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature fell appreciably with marked falls at a few places in
Bihar, Sikkim, the hilly areas of Sub Himalayan West Bengal and at one or two places in
Gangetic West Bengal; fell appreciably at one or two places in Odisha; rose appreciably at
one or two places in the plains of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. No large change occurred
elsewhere in the region.
Those were above to appreciably above normal at a few places with markedly above
normal at a few places in Jharkhand; above to appreciably above normal at many places in
Odisha, at a few places in Bihar and at one or two places in Gangetic West Bengal; below
normal at one or two places in Sikkim and Sub Himalayan West Bengal, and normal
elsewhere in the region.
Yesterday's cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and adjoining areas of Gangetic West
Bengal & north Odisha extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less
marked. Yesterday's trough from the above cyclonic circulation to west Assam across West
Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked. Yesterday's cyclonic
circulation over East Uttar Pradesh & neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level
persists. A trough runs from the above cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh to
central Bangladesh across south Bihar and West Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level. A
trough runs from Gangetic West Bengal to south Chhattisgarh across interior Odisha at 0.9
km above mean sea level.

40-50 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha. 2) Thunderstorm with
lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places
over Jharkhand, Bihar, Sikkim and the districts of West Bengal.
Friday 22 Apr(Day-3) 1) Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching
40-50 kmph) accompanied with hail likely to occur at one or two places over Sikkim and
the districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. 2) Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty
wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Jharkhand and
the districts of Gangetic West Bengal. 3) Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind
(speed reaching 30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Bihar. 4)
