LESSON 12. 4th QUARTER

LESSON TITLE: QUALITATIVE RESEARCH DESIGN

I. LEARNING OUTCOME/OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

1. Learn about the different kinds of qualitative research designs.


2. The importance of choosing the appropriate research design aligned
with the research questions.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

III. PROCEDURE
A. ACTIVITY

Activity 1. Unveiling thoughts on how you write the literature review.

1. What is a literature review?


2. How did you begin in writing your literature review?
3. How did you find writing your review of related literature?
4. How important is literature review in a study?

Activity 2. Establishing a purpose for the lesson.


The teacher will post a picture of crossword puzzle and ask students about it.
A start up on students critical thinking skills to actively analyze and observe
the given image.

Activity 3. Instances of the lessons.


The teacher will present a box contains important words. Use those words to
fill in the blanks the correct word described in each item.

B. ANALYSIS
The teacher will present the day’s lesson. Qualitative Research Design

C. ABSTRACTION

1. Why is it important to use the appropriate research design in


conducting a research?
2. Elaborate the statement, “Research design is the logic in the
research process”.

D. APPLICATION

The teacher will post a list of research topic and let the students classify
according to the 5 qualitative research design.

IV. ASSESSMENT

The teacher will read statements and let the students’ answer and
determine whether the following statements tell about the correct specific
type of research design.

1. Case study is a type of research that focuses on the development of


theory based on the data collected by the researcher.

2. The research problem determines the type of research design you


will use.

3. The study of cultural patterns of people and their perspectives as a


group is called content analysis.

4. Ethnography refers to the study of the phenomenon experienced by


human on Earth including sensory experiences.

5. Content Analysis, Grounded Theory, and Case Study are examples


of quantitative research designs.
