RA 10354: THE RESPONSIBLE PARENTHOOD AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH ACT OF 2012 The Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012 is an act enacted by the Philippine Congress on December 8, 2012. The law provides a basis and guideline regarding the dissemination of information about family planning, maternal and child health, reproductive health among men and women, sexually transmitted infections and sexual disorders, and also some issues regarding sexual violence and gender-based violence. In addition to these, it also provides information regarding health services that are offered by the government. Included in this law is the use of contraceptives that are safe, legal and culturally appropriate. Artificial methods of contraceptives including hormonal injection and contraceptive pills are covered under this law of the Philippines.
NATIONAL FAMILY PLANNING PROGRAM
The National Family Planning Program is committed to provide responsive policy direction and ensure access of Filipinos to medically safe, legal, non-abortifacient, effective, and culturally acceptable modern family planning (FP) methods. It is for Filipino women and men to achieve their desired family size and fulfill the reproductive health and rights for all through universal access to quality family planning information and services. The important component covered under this law is the proper forecasting and procurement of family planning methods and supplies, in addition it is also to strengthen and ensure adequate supplies of family planning methods.
