A. ROUTINARY ACTIVITIES

Good Morning class!

Good morning, Ma’am.

Let us pray first.

Let’s bow our heads and feel the presence of
the Lord.
In the name of the father, and of the son, and
of the Holy Spirit…

For your attendance, I have sent the google form

to our chat room. Kindly fill out the form.
However, I will still remind you that I will take a
screenshot if you really attend our virtual meeting
today or not.

Before we start our class, kindly turn on your

cameras so I can see who are wearing their school
uniform. Also, please mute your microphones so
that everyone could hear me clearly.

So how’s your day? Is it good so far? It was great, Ma’am!

That’s good to know. So, are you ready to discuss

our new topic today? Yes, Ma’am.

1. REVIEW

Now let’s have a short review of what we have

discussed last meeting.
What was our last discussion all about? Ma’am, we discussed about Simple Past
Tense.

That is correct! Who van define Simple Past Ma’am, Simple past is a verb tense that is
tense? used to talk about something that happened or
existed before now.

Absolutely! Who can give me a sentence using I went to the farm last weekend.
simple past tense?

Very good! It seems like you’ve learned well from

your topics. Keep up the good work, class.

A. LESSON PROPER

A. MOTIVATION

Now, I will show you a video. This video is a

guessing game. You will see a future tense
sentence with a missing word. Then try to guess
the correct word to complete the sentence.
Is that clear? Yes, Ma’am!
(The teacher will play the video.)

B. PRESENTATION OF THE LESSON

What have you observed with the video? There is a hidden image behind those some
colored shapes.

That is correct! What else? We tried to guess what the word is and then
complete the future tense sentence.

That is right! Do you have an idea now of what

We’re going to discussed about Future Tense,
our topic would be today?
Ma’am.

Very good! But today we will focus on Simple

Future Tense.

1. ACTIVITY

Now, before we proceed with our discussion, I

will give you an activity. This activity is called “A
Camping Trip”
The instruction is very simple.
Have groups of four, brainstorm what are the
things that you need in preparing for the camping
trip. Discuss with your groups the role that you
will play in preparation for the trip using the
simple future. For example, one person might
say, “I will collect the fire wood.” Afterwards, you
are going to share to the class about the
preparations that you have planned.
Is everything clear? Yes, Ma’am.

Very good!

2. ANALYSIS

In this lesson, we will focus on Simple Future

Tense. But before we proceed to our topic, what
comes into your mind when you hear the word Ma’am, whenever I hear the word future
‘future tense. tense, it is a verb tense used to describe a
future event or state of being.

That is correct! Any action that is scheduled to

happen in the future comes under the agenda of
the future tense. Like any other tense, Future
Tense too can be detected by the verb form and the
auxiliaries used.

Markers of Future Tense

Tomorrow Years to Coming Ensuing
come week year
Next Next day Coming Following
month day
Following Next Coming Following
month year week
Days to Next week Ensuing Following
come week month
Months to Next year Ensuing Following
come month year The simple future is a verb tense that's used to
talk about things that haven't happened yet.
Now, let us discuss about Simple Future Tense.
What is Simple Tense?

Very good! Simple future verbs are used for

actions that will happen at a specific time in the
future, after the current moment. This includes
plans, predictions, promises, willingness, and
decisions. The simple foreseen outcomes are
stated in the future indefinite tense. "Shall/will'"
marks the future indefinite tense.
Structure:
Subject + shall/will + verb + . . . . . .
Simple Future Tense is used:
1. To indicate an instant decision at the moment of
speaking:
Examples:

 Hold on. I’ll get a pen.

 We will see what we can do to help you.

2. To indicate an offer or promise:

Examples:

 You will get a mobile if you stand first.

 I shall do all this for you.

3. We often use the future simple tense to make a

prediction about the future.
Examples:

 It will rain tomorrow.

 One day the people will live on the Moon.

4. When the main verb is be, we can use the future

simple tense even if we have a firm plan or
decision before speaking. Examples:

o We shall move to another city.

 I’ll be in London tomorrow.
o He will come to New York tomorrow.
 I’m going shopping. It won’t be very long.
o They will make a phone which has
artificial intelligence.
Can anyone give me an example sentences
showing simple future tense? o It will rain in the coming hours.
o There will be a hard few days ahead of
us.

Very Good! What else?

The simple future refers to a time later than now,

and expresses facts or certainty. In this case there
is no 'attitude'.

The simple future tense is composed of two

parts: will / shall + the infinitive without to
Subject +will +infinitive
without "to"
Affirmative
I will go
I shall go
Negative
They will not see
They won't see
Interrogative
Will she ask?
Interrogative negative
Won't they try?

What can you observe with the words below?

I will = I'll Those words are example of contractions,

We will = we'll Ma’am.
You will = you'll
He will = he'll
She will = she'll
They will = they'll A contraction is a shortened form of a word
Will not = won't (or group of words) that omits certain letters
or sounds.

That is right! Who will try to define what is

Contractions?

Precisely! A contraction is the combination of two

words into one. In contractions, letters are replaced
with an apostrophe (‘).

Take note that the form "it will" is not normally

shortened.

Here are other examples to see simple future tense.

Last meeting, I asked you to read the story of “The Yes, Ma’am.
Prowess of Aliguyon” retold by F. Landa Jocano.
Have you read the story, class?
There is only one sentence which has a simple
future tense from the story Ma’am.
Great! Now we will not recounting the story
anymore since you already have read it. However,
I would like some of you to select phrases or Yes, Ma’am.
words from the story. Is that fine with you?

Good! Who will start to give a word or phrase

from the story?

 We shall move to another city.

Really?  He will come to New York tomorrow.

Very good! I believe that you really read the whole  It will rain in the coming hours.
story.  There will be a hard few days ahead of
us.
Since there is only one sentence with simple future
tense from the story. Can anyone give me an
example sentences showing simple future tense?

That is right! What else?
