SIMPLE BAG

FINISHED SIZE: 15” X 17”


A simple bag that a sewer of any level can make! Books and documents
can easily be stored inside the Simple Bag. It can be used in the season
as a summer bag to carry around various accessories and items. The
Simple Bag is the epitome of simplicity and practicality.

This is an easy and simple pattern for begnners.

MATERIAL LIST
FABRIC
44” wide quilting weight cotton or linen cotton
or home deco
(1/2) yard for exterior fabric

OTHERS 3. Topstitch 1/8” away from the top. Topstitch 1/8” away from the
folded edge.
(1) Sewing label (Optional)
(1) Spool of coordinating thread

TOOL
Ruler, Scissors, Chalk pencil, Pencil, Sewing
machine, Pins, Needle, Shape tool
* Seam allowance 3/8” unless otherwise specified.
* All units are in inches.
CUTTING
4. Fold and press a 1/4” seam on both short ends of the strap.
EXTERIOR 5. Then, fold the strap in half lengthwise with wrong sides together.
(2) 15 3/4” x 19” for Front and Back Pieces

(2) Strap Pieces 27 1/4” x 5” for Straps

6. Open the strap and fold each side in half. Fold along the center
crease and press again.

7. Pin and topstitch the all around the strap 1/8” away from the seam.

8. Make the other strap in the same manner.

Center
1. Place the front and back pieces with right sides together. Pin and 2 1/2” 2 1/2”
sew the front and back pieces. Backstitch on both ends. Leave a top 1 3/4”
opening. Overlock all the seams.

8. Place the strap onto the front piece with right sides together. Lay
the strap 1 3/4” from the top and 2 1/2” from the center. Sew in a
rectagular then sew again across each corners.
2. Turn the bag right side out and press the whole bag. Double fold
1” from the top seam and then press. 9. Attach the ohter strap in the same manner.
