READING CATCH-UP PLAN
SY 2022-2023

Rationale

In support to the call of producing productive and responsible citizen equipped with essential competencies and skills for lifelong
learning, the Grade 4 class of Lungag Elementary School actively responds to this goal by strengthening the reading program which aims to
make every learner a proficient reader.

Grade 4 class has a total population of 23 in the SY: 2022-2023. Unfortunately, among the pupils there were 15 frustrations in English
and Filipino. With the given data, Grade 4 class would like to address the gaps.

To address the gap, there is a need to religiously implement the Reading Catch-Up Plan that contains the comprehensive reading
curriculum so as to improve the reading proficiency of every leaner.

This plan will guide the students and teacher to reduce the Frustration Level reader by 40% at the end of the school year and help
learners to track the reading progress and eventually improve reading proficiency and to prepare them for productive academic learning and
engagement.
