PRE-LESSON
1. Initiate a short discussion. Ask pupils where they were on Saturday/at the weekend.
2. Encourage them to participate in the discussion and describe how they felt using the adjectives learnt.

2. Activity 2:
Tell pupils they will read a story. Ask them to read the story and to tell you whose weekend sounds best. Take a
vote on the answer. Encourage pupils to guess the meaning of the word hospital from the pictures and the
context.
Ask pupils to read the story again and to check to see which words from step above are in the story. You could
have them listen to the story on the CD at this stage. (track 31)
Consider asking the While reading questions (see Teacher’s Book, p.126).
Ask the After reading questions (Teacher’s Book, p.126) and focus on the Value (See Post-story activity,
Teacher’s Book, p.126).
3. Activity 3:
Play the Press conference game (Teacher’s Book, p.127).
