Introduction
I, Dikshyant Subedi, born on 5th September 2001, son of Mr. Kamal Subedi and Mrs. Bhakta
Hira Rai, permanent resident of Miklajung, 03 Miklajung, Morang, Nepal. I am strategic,
curious minded and eager to pursue qualitative and productive higher education to satisfy
my hunger for knowledge to gain expertise in business sector. It is because of recognition
of the importance of business that I must seek further education and a career in this field.
Academic Background
As a student, I have always been competent, sincere, and obedient in my study. Regarding
my academic background, I completed S.E.E (Secondary Education Examination, Grade-
10) from New Diamond Academy High School, Puranonaikap, Kathmandu, Bagmati
Province, Nepal securing GPA 3.35 in 2017 A.D. Then, I joined and completed School
Leaving Certificate Examination (Grade XI and XII) in management faculty from Everest
Secondary School, Soalteemode, Kathmandu, Nepal scoring CGPA 2.92 in the year 2019
A.D. My higher education has always been my personal and parent’s priority.
Overall, the academic journey I went through was challenging, exciting and a wonderful
experience that helped me in boosting my knowledge to next level. Studying Bachelor of
Business from worldwide recognized Australian college, Wentworth Institute will be a
good continuation to my academic journey and right step for my further career.
Work Experience
Regarding my work experience, I had done internship as a trainee in Express Legend Pvt.
Ltd., Koteshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal from 10 th March 2020 to 9th March 2021. During the
period of intern, I was engaged in assisting accountant in preparation of daily saving sheet,
monthly saving and credit report, and helping auditor to prepare draft of internal audit.
This internship helped me to gain proper knowledge and professional skills related to
business.
Impacts of COVID-19
The year 2020 was started with terror of the COVID-19 and witnessed the unforgettable
imprints of the pandemic on the global community. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected
more than 90 percent of global student population, causing one of the largest disruptions
in history of formal education. This COVID-19 virus has created unprecedented times for
all around the globe.
After doing work for one year, I consulted with my family members for higher education
and planned to join IELTS class for my further academic career. But Nepal government
announced second lockdown from 29 th April 2021 where I could not join IELTS physical
class due to the effect of COVID-19 as all the educational consultancies were closed at that
time. After being the normal condition of Corona Virus in home country, I joined IELTS
physical class and became prepared for it. Then, I gave IELTS examination in 19 th
December 2021. Also, the Australian government officially announced open border for
international students in December 2021. After the opening of Australia’s border, I got the
opportunity to apply for my higher academic procedure.
My father and mother are financial sponsors for tuition fees, accommodation and
insurance costs while studying and staying in Australia. My father, Kamal Subedi earns
annual income of NRs. 1,386,516.94 (equivalent to AU$15,946.14) from business (Sara
Builders) as per audit report and NRs. 630,000 (equivalent to AU$7,245.54) from salary
(Sara Builders) as per salary certificate. Also, my mother, Bhakta Hira Rai earns annual
income of NRs. 540,000 (equivalent to AU$6,210.46) from land lease as per land lease
agreement. In total, they earn annual income of NRs. 2,556,516.94 (equivalent to
AU$29,402.15) from business, salary and land lease as per audit report, salary certificate
and land lease agreement respectively.
In addition to this, my mother has taken education loan of NPR 4,000,000 (equivalent to
AU$ 46,431.39) from Nepal Credit & Commerce Bank Ltd. This amount of money is only
allocated to support my relevant expenses in Australia.
Thus, I can assure you that my family is financially capable and easily afford my further
education during my study and stay period in Australia.
Immigration History
Concerning my immigration history, I have not travelled any other foreign countries in the
past. This is my first-time visa application to foreign country. I hope that my dream of
staying in foreign country for 3 years will be much more interesting and fruitful. So, I do
not have any immigration history for Australia or any other countries.
Reasons for not choosing home country Nepal for further studies
I did a lot of researches and surveys on my home country regarding my higher academic
career. As a citizen of Nepal, my foremost priority would be my home country where
universities like Tribhuvan University (https://tribhuvan-university.edu.np/), Kathmandu
University (https://ku.edu.np/), Pokhara University (https://pu.edu.np/), etc. offers
related program in Bachelor degree but the education structure in these universities is
very rigid and the education system is very traditional as the study system applies theory-
based class rather than real-world experience. As business field is dynamic where having
practical based education with international relevance is a need. In context of Nepal,
productive, professional and practical courses are still limited. Lack of preferred course
institution and updated curriculum, random academic calendar and weak government
education policy trigger students to select international college/universities as their study
destination.
Studying in Nepal will not allow me the international exposure as well. Though the
bachelor program cost is considerably cheaper in Nepal, but the value of bachelor’s degree
obtained from Australia compared to Nepal is very highly acknowledged and acceptable
globally. On other hand, education in Nepal is not as qualitative as in foreign countries.
Education system in Nepal is not student friendly; teaching methods and syllabus are of
old designed which does not keep students up to date with the pace of changing business
world. I must stay away by holding certificate only in hand with no worth in the market.
Studying abroad will broaden my mind and the most important thing is that I will learn to
cope up with different situations gaining much more practical knowledge. Management of
universities and colleges in Nepal is too weak for delaying in delivery of the courses, exam
schedule and publishing result, frequently disturbances in the university along with old
teaching methodologies and unable to produce graduates as per the need of current
Nepalese business market. Although, the number of universities in Nepal is increasing but
the quality of education being offered here is neglected. So, to be self-motivated, smart
worker and leader in business field, I chose Australia for my higher education destination
rather than home country, Nepal.
The overall reason that I don’t want to study in Nepal is due to its theory-based education
which will help to get job but can’t make me globally competent, qualitative, skillful and
knowledgeable in the sector of business.
Why not developed countries like U.S.A, U.K, Canada and Japan for
higher education
Being thoughtful, I have gone through many researches and surveys on official websites of
various colleges/universities from other perspective countries as my options like USA,
Canada, UK and Japan for further studies.
Though USA is considered as the land of opportunity, but their universities require
lengthy tests like SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), ACT (American College Test), etc. which
takes much more time to prepare. Australia only needs popular tests like IELTS, PTE
which take comparatively less time and is convenient for maximum students. Even though
both countries provide world-class education, the tuition fees and living cost in USA is
relatively high for bachelor program. As far as security is concerned, it is unpredictable
what happens next to the immigrants in USA.
UK is considered as one of the best academic destinations for further studies where its
universities ranking is excellent worldwide. However, the cost of tuition fees and living
cost is so expensive in comparison to Australia. Also, students who are in UK are facing
lots of problem in terms of security, career outcomes and lack of responsibility after the
closure of educational institutions.
Canada is also another popular destination for abroad study. Though Canada has wide
number of virtue universities but due to unbearable climate i.e., extremely cold and heavy
snowfall, it will become very difficult to adjust in extremely cold environment as I have
been raised up in moderate type of climate. The processing for Canada takes long time and
their procedure is quite complicated. Even though Canada is one of the best countries in
the world, I choose Australia as their procedure for applying is more direct.
Japan has also been one of the popular destinations for further study to Nepalese students.
But student applying Japan to continue higher education must get enrolled in a language
school before joining in any colleges/universities. Language problem is one of the main
hindrances for my higher study in Japan.
Thus, evaluating all the above circumstances, I found Australia as the most suitable and
appropriate destination for my further academic career due to its easy test requirements,
affordable fee structure and living costs, highly productive education providers, practical
courses, suitable weather and climate, cultural diversity, social safety and good
educational policy from the Australian government for international students like me.
There is TPS (Tuition Protection Service) which is activated in case the course provider
fails to deliver the full course and makes sure that the educational funds of students are
properly utilized without going to waste. (https://www.dese.gov.au/tps) There is also
great and convenient facility of healthcare for international students where they must
maintain their Overseas Students Health Cover (OSHC) to access medical services with
ease.

Australia is a popular destination for international students because of its strong economy,
cultural diversity and high standard of living. Today, Australia is known for quality
education with practical applications and flourishing opportunities for students. Mostly,
career-oriented courses are operated by Australia. The living expenses and tuition costs
are affordable in comparison with countries like USA, UK, etc. There is wide diversity in
education, variety of courses and quality of different researches which helps student to
gain depth knowledge on their related subjects. Australia’s safe and multicultural life helps
international students to adjust well. Students from all cultural background, races,
religion, and ethnicities are openly welcomed which is unique about Australia.
So, I decided to choose Australia as further education destination for my academic career.
After studying in Australia, I will receive a qualification that will be globally recognized
and sought after around the world.
Studying in Sydney opens new horizons for everyone who chooses it for higher studies.
My dreams will be uplifted by Sydney’s charm and hospitality. Moreover, it is an active
event hub for business, training and academy that will benefit in further career
development. Sydney is a clear choice for me from where not only in education but also in
socialization, I can develop myself as a qualitative individual. Below are the summarized
reasons why I have chosen Sydney for my further academic destination:
- Standard education and advanced infrastructure like transportation
- Internationally recognized courses and popular colleges/universities
- Best student life with ample academic opportunities

Thus, I believe my stay will be productive with the positive vibes and opportunities that
Sydney provides. So, I personally found Sydney as the best city to stay and continue my
higher study.

RMIT University
RMIT University provide my chosen course in Melbourne City but it is not in my preferred

expensive in comparison with Wentworth Institute tuition fees (AU$52,800).

The more experience I gain, I will have more opportunities to be promoted to a higher
position and subsequently my salary would also be increased. I could apply my knowledge
and skills in Nepal and other foreign countries too. With all the experience and skills in the
related field after working for 4-5 years, I will start my own business firm simultaneously
and create some job opportunities for other youngsters in Nepal.
Besides this, being eldest son of my family, I hold primal responsibilities and duties to
fulfill my family members wishes and expectations. I must look after my parents as they
would turn weaker physically and emotionally with the growing age. Their devotion in
nurturing me and constant support to build academics and career is precious. I must
support them financially, emotionally and morally as they will be eagerly waiting for my
return to homeland. They will be very happy on my returning and become proud of my
academic achievement from Australia.
As far as my attachment towards home country is concerned, I would like to disclose that
there is no other country in the world that can replace my world that I have here. My

own which is my responsibility too. I must take care of my family members who have
supported till the date. Returning Nepal and working here will aid in the betterment of my
nation as well as I will be with my parents, relatives, friends, own culture and tradition.
Returning to Nepal will open the door of ample opportunities, greater possibilities with
high earnings for me.
