Group 1: Sounds
Teaching activity: Phoneme bingo
How this activity / material relates to sounds (phonemes): This activity was about
sounds, I think it trains the ear of the students so that they can differentiate words
that have almost the same pronunciation, but that are not the same and have some
minimal different sound.
Benefits / effectiveness: Students begin to recognize sounds and then it helps the to
practice their pronunciation since different sounds start being familiar. I think
listening helps a lot to remember sounds and learn to pronounce them well over
time.

Group 2: Word stress

Pronunciation aspect: Word stress
Teaching activity: Marking stress
How this activity / material relates to (word stress): Marking stressed syllables
helps students when listening to the word, to pay more attention to the marked area,
that can help them to differentiate the normal syllables with those that have a
slightly stronger pronounced sound.
Benefits / effectiveness: This lesson is important for students, as emphasizing an
incorrect syllable in the word can completely change the sound, and also the
meaning. Students will learn to recognize the word stress and how to do it
correctly.

Group 3: Prominence
Pronunciation aspect: Prominence
Teaching activity: Stress and meaning
How this activity / material relates to (prominence): This lesson showed students
how changing the tonic syllable in a sentence can completely change the focus. In
addition, the presentation explained how students can exaggerate the stressed
syllable in sentences. Finally, teachers demonstrated to students how to do this and
what effects changing each stressed word in the same sentence had.
Benefits / effectiveness: Students can be clearer with what they want to say and
what they want to focus on in a sentence.

Group 4: Connected speech

Pronunciation aspect: connected speech
Teaching activity: Weak forms marking unstressed forms.
How this activity / material relates to (connected speech): The use of weak forms
can result difficult for students in listening comprehension. This activity helps
students to be familiar and able to understood this new sounds. Finally, students
could understand better native speakers in a conversation.
Benefits / effectiveness: They can star recognizing weak forms of the words and
practicing they will be able to do those sounds and also understand them.

Group 5: Intonation
Pronunciation aspect: Intonation
Teaching activity: Word conversation with intonation patterns.
How this activity / material relates to (intonation): This activity shows students
the importance of intonation, as the feeling you have can confuse the person you are
talking to and at the same time it can change the way you say something. If you say
it too seriously, it can sound a bit rude and can make the person you're talking to
uncomfortable. Practice repeating the same sentence with different intonation or
feelings, teach students to correctly use the feeling they want to transfer.
Benefits / effectiveness: Students will be able to use intonation patterns and how
to correctly express what they want; they will be ready to show the right attitude in
conversations.
