2. Teachers should adopt a code of ethics to help them create a safe, productive,
3. and positive learning environment in the classroom. Teachers are expected to maintain
4. high standards that encourage meaningful and inclusive engagement in the classroom,
5. school, and community, allowing all students to attain their full potential. The Ethical
6. Principles promote beneficial relationships between teachers, students, and parents
7. when making educational decisions. Furthermore, by cultivating healthy relationships
8. among students, parents, and teachers, all parties can improve teaching and learning
9. activities and resources, hence increasing individual educational outcomes. The Code
10. of Ethics also challenges teachers to use current data and professional expertise to
11. improve teaching and learning activities in the classroom. Teachers can provide the
12. finest education for each student if they participate in professional development and
13. continue their education.

What I have learned today from the Code of Ethics for Professional Teacher is that
teachers should adopt a code of ethics to help them create a safe, productive, and positive
learning environment in the classroom. We teachers are expected to maintain high standards that
encourage meaningful and inclusive engagement in the classroom, school, and community,
allowing all students to attain their full potential. The Ethical Principles promote beneficial
relationships between us, students, and parents when making educational decisions. Furthermore,
by cultivating healthy relationships among students, parents, and teachers, all parties can
improve teaching and learning activities and resources and increasing individual educational
outcomes. The Code of Ethics also challenges us to use current data and professional expertise to
improve teaching and learning activities in the classroom. We can also provide the finest
education for each student if they participate in professional development and continue their
education.

2. How will these learnings be of help to you as a teacher?


Code of ethics will help us negotiate difficult times during our career. It allows us to
decipher the right thing to do base on the current perspective and to take responsibility for and
stand by our decisions. Another ideal to be realized in the process of abiding by your code of
ethics is to make quick and prudent decisions. We should not delay ethically correct decisions for
long periods of time before putting them into practice. If your code of ethics is strong, you
should be able to make decisions on the spot and have the conviction to bear the consequences.
Too much pondering or hesitation takes the impact out of even the soundest ethical decisions.
