10. When a hydrogen atom is raised from the ground state to an excited state how K.E and P.E 2
changes?
11. Explain laws of photoelectric emission on the basis of Einstein’s photoelectric equation. 2

12. A nucleus of mass number A has a mass defect. Give the formula, for the binding energy per 2
nucleon of this nucleus?

13. What is meant by the tern doping of an intrinsic semiconductor? How does it affect the 2
conductivity of a semiconductor?
14. The energy of an electron in an excited hydrogen atom is -3.4 eV. What is the angular 2
momentum of the electron according to Bohr’s Theory? Planck’s constant h= 6.67x10-34 Js.
15. Monochromatic light of frequency 6 x1014 Hz is produced by a laser. The power emitted is 2.0 2

18. Explain the formation i)’potential barrier’ and ii) ‘depletion region’ in a p-n junction diode. 3
How does the width of the depletion region vary with increase in forward bias?
Draw forward bias and reverse bias characteristics.
19. What is the need of rectification? With the help of a circuit diagram, explain the working of a 3
full wave rectifier. Draw its input and output wave forms.
20. Calculate the Binding energy and Binding energy per nucleon of 7N14. 3
mH = 1.007825 u mn = 1.008665 u m (N) = 14.00307 u

21. State the postulates of Bohr’s model of hydrogen atom. The electron, in a given Bohr orbit has a 3
total energy of -1.5 eV. Calculate its: (i) Kinetic Energy.(ii) Potential energy.

22. Obtain the expression for the wavelength of de-Broglie wave associated with an electron 3
accelerated from rest through a potential difference V.
Plot the de-Broglie wavelength (λ) as a function of 1/√ V (V is the accelerating potential) for
