DAILY LESSON LOG OF M9-GE-IVa-1(Day 1)

School Grade Level Grade 9

Teacher Learning Mathematics

Teaching Date and
Quarter Fourth
Time
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives,
necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may
I. OBJECTIVES be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative Assessment
Strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find
significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content
The learner demonstrates understanding of the basic concepts of trigonometry.
Standards
B. Performance The learner is able to apply the concepts of trigonometric ratios to formulate and solve
Standards real-life problems with precision and accuracy.
Learning Competency: Illustrates the six trigonometric ratios: sine, cosine, tangent,
secant, cosecant and cotangent. (M9AL-GE-IIIb-1)
Learning Objectives:
C. Learning
1. Illustrates the six trigonometric ratios: sine, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant
Competencies/
and cotangent.

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so
that pupils/students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the
pupils/ students which you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain
IV. PROCEDURES learning systematically by providing pupils/students with multiple ways to learn new
things, practice the learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusions
about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge.
Indicate the time allotment for each step.
The teacher lets the students answer activity. Please refer to the attach copy.

DAILY LESSON LOG OF M9-GE-IVa-1(Day 1)

The teacher lets the student, in pairs, do the activity given below. Answer the following
questions. A

C. Presenting
examples/ C a B
instances of the 1. What is the longest leg in a right triangle?________
new lesson 2. What is the opposite side of ∠ A ? _______________
3. What is the adjacent side of ∠ A ? _____________
4. What is the opposite side of ∠ B? _______________
5. What is the adjacent side of ∠ B? _____________

The teacher discusses with the students the answer to the activity.
Answer Key:
1. Hypotenuse 2. a 3. b 4. b 5. a
The teacher discusses the six trigonometric ratios.
A

b c

C θ B

Based on the Word Search above, the terms used are very important in dealing with
trigonometric ratios.

In a right triangle, we can define the six trigonometric ratios. Consider the right
triangle ABC above. In this we let θ represent∠B. Then the leg denoted by a is the
side adjacent to θ , and the leg denoted by b is the side opposite to θ .
We will use the convention that angles are symbolized by capital letters, while the
side opposite each angle will carry the same letter symbol, in lower case.

them, you can ask them relevant questions.
A. No. of learners
who earned 80%
of the evaluation
B. No. of learners
who require
additional
activities for
remediation who
scored below 80%
C. Did the remedial
lesson work? No.
of learners who
have caught up
with the lesson.
D. No. of learners
who continue to
require
remediation
E. Which of my
teaching
strategies worked
well? Why did
these work?
F. What difficulties
did I encounter
which my
principal or
supervisor can
help me solve?
G. What innovation
or localized

use/ discover
which I wish to
