To. All Prospective Students

In order to carry out the Indonesian Government's commitment to contribute to the capacity
building of Human Resources in Developing Countries and as one of the efforts to encourage
the internationalization of Indonesian Higher Education through increasing the number of
foreign students studying at University in Indonesia, we respectfully submit:
1. Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through Directorate General of
Higher Education, Research and Technology opens opportunities for international students
who come from developing countries to study in bachelor, masters and doctoral programs
at universities in Indonesia with financial assistance from the Government of the Republic
of Indonesia through the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship.
2. KNB Scholarship Program Will be given to international students who have fulfilled
administrative and academic requirements at 27 universities in Indonesia, ie: Institut
Pertanian Bogor, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember,
Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Atma Jaya
Yogyakarta, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Gadjah Mada,
Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Universitas
Katolik Parahyangan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Universitas Muhammadiyah
Surakarta, Universitas Negeri Malang, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Negeri
Surabaya, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Pendidikan
Indonesia, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Telkom, Universitas Syiah Kuala,
Universitas Dian Nuswantoro, Universitas Sanata Dharma dan Universitas Wijaya Kusuma
Surabaya.
3. The scholarship offers in 2023 fiscal year is Doctoral (S3), Masters (S2) and Bachelor (S1).
4. To get the KNB scholarship, prospective scholarship students are required to fulfill
administrative and academic requirements (requirements and registration procedures
attached) and register online via the website www.knb.kemdikbud.go.id.
5. Online registration will open on 16th January 2023 and will close on 18th February 2023.
We will announce the results of the KNB Scholarship 2023 selection on 9th June 2023.
In this regard, we ask you to contact the Indonesian embassy office in your country to request
a letter of recommendation from Indonesian Representative (Embassy and Consulate
General). We do this as the first verification for finding the prospective students and also
facilitating the monitoring and follow-up of future scholarship grants.
As consideration, we attached the Guidelines, KNB Scholarship 2023 registration procedure,
and also the template of Recommendation Letter of Indonesian Representative. For more

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
PROGRAM KEMITRAAN NEGARA BERKEMBANG SCHOLARSHIP
2023
1. Applicants download KNB Scholarship registration form (in Bahasa) from web
(https://knb.kemdikbud.go.id);
2. Applicants submit the registration form by attaching a Curriculum Vitae, photocopy of
passport, certificate (in English), academic transcripts (in English), TOEFL or IELTS
certificate (or other equivalent English Language Test) obtained in the last 2 years,
motivation letters, for doctoral programs plus dissertation proposals and Academic
Reference Letters from Research Supervisors at Universities in Indonesia, and other
required documents to Indonesian Representatives (KBRI or KJRI) in related countries to
obtain a Letter of Recommendation from Indonesian Representatives as the main
requirement to continue the registration process;
3. Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia collect data and review applications for
Recommendation Letters from prospective KNB Scholarship applicants, especially
regarding the applicant's educational background (for example: Grade Point Average,
Final Diploma, Institutional Reputation), work history (if any) and the validity of the
documents submitted by the applicant as a basis for providing a Recommendation Letter
(applicants cannot register without a recommendation letter from the Indonesian
Representative in the relevant country);
4. After obtaining a Recommendation letter from the Indonesian Representative, prospective
KNB Scholarship applicants are welcome to register online via the KNB Scholarship web
(https://knb.kemdikbud.go.id);
5. All required documents must be scanned into electronic documents in .jpeg or .jpg format
with a maximum size per file of 300kb to avoid technical problems when uploading files
due to poor internet connection or interference with the server;
6. Registration will be started 16th January 2023 and closed 18th February 2023;
7. The Indonesian Representative submits applicant documents that complete the
requirements for the KNB Scholarship to the KNB Scholarship Manager at the Directorate
General of Higher Education, Research and Technology no later than March 4, 2023 via
email knb@kemdikbud.go.id and a copy to nela@kemdikbud.go.id with email subject:
<Embassy/KJRI Accredited Country> Recap of Names of KNB Scholarship
Applicants who Received Embassy/KJRI Recommendation Letters;
8. The result will be announced no later than 9th June 2023 via the KNB Scholarship
Management College, Indonesian Representatives in related countries and by the KNB
Scholarship website;
9. After receiving the selection results, the candidate for the KNB Scholarship scholar is
required to submit a Statement of being KNB Scholarship scholars, a Letter of
Agreement for a KNB Scholarship, a scan of the relevant passport biodata, and a
Confirmation of Willingness to come to Indonesia, on 23rd June, 2023 through the

Indonesian Representative in the related country. Candidates who do not submit these
requirements within the specified time will be deemed to have resigned and will be
replaced by another candidate in accordance with the provisions of the KNB Scholarship
Management. At this stage, higher education institutions that accept prospective students
will coordinate with Indonesian Representatives in collecting documents and information
related to prospective students;
10. The Indonesian Representative submits these documents to the KNB Scholarship PIC at
the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology no later than 30th
June, 2023 via email knb@kemdikbud.go.id and a copy to nela@kemdikbud.go.id
with the email subject: <Name of Representative> Confirmation of 2023 KNB
Attendance;
11. For the purposes of the candidates arrival, KNB Management institutions in coordination
with the Indonesian Embassy/KJRI in the relevant country will facilitate the proses of
KNB Scholarship students to Indonesia;
12. Universities submit immigration document requirements to the Directorate General of
Immigration to process student study visas;
13. Participants are scheduled to arrive in Jakarta on July 2023. However, the departure
date will be adjusted to the distance and availability of flights from the candidate's country
of origin. The purchase of departure tickets for the candidates will be facilitated by the
KNB Scholarship PIC at the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and
Technology and will be delivered to the candidates through the KNB Scholarship PIC in
Universities after coordinating with the Indonesian Representative in the candidate's
country of origin in the form of an e-ticket immediately after the Study Visa is issued by
the Directorate General of Immigration;
14. On the arrival day, the candidates will be picked up by officers from the Directorate of
Organization Management at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport terminals 2 and 3 and
the meeting place which will be informed later. For the purposes of the Centralized
Orientation will be held on August 2023, candidates will stay for 1 night in Jakarta and
after the Centralized Orientation event finished will be depart to the university
accompanied by the team from the universities;
