At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:

 Recognize different ironical phrase, sentence or passage.
 Show appreciation by identifying types of irony through pictures.
 Dramatize situations using the three kinds of irony.

was surprised to see the Solomon brothers behind him,
since he was much faster than they, but he didn't mind.
Timmy beat them to every egg, and raced on to the next,
never noticing that his sack wasn't getting heavier. As he
approached the end of the course, Timmy was elated that he
was the first to finish. The Solomon brothers were right
behind him. "Maybe next year, loser twins," Timmy
chuckled, right before he noticed that his sack was empty.
Group 3
Group 3 Making friends isn't easy. Ask Juan Guerrero,

square. "Wow! What an awesome flip, Tony Hawk.
You'll have to teach me that," Romeo sneered. Now Juan
eats lunch alone.
E. Analysis.
-I will present pictures and the students will
be asked if the picture is an example of
Verbal Irony, Situational Irony and Dramatic
Irony.
F. Abstraction
I will ask or give the students a summary of

have 5 minutes to prepare.
- Make a short presentation depicting different
situations. Make sure to use the three kinds
of irony.
- It might be in the school, snack house,
market or at your house.
- You’ll be graded according to these criteria.

Appropriate non-verbal cues= 5 points
Clarity of the voice=3 points
Unity as a group= 2 points.

H. Evaluation.
Identify and write VI if the sentence/passage
is verbal irony, SI if it is situational irony,
and DI if it is dramatic irony.
