I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Producing the correct sounds of English –The /a/ and /e/ sounds.( EN8OL-Ia-3.11)
Content Standard:
The learner produces the correct sounds of English-The /a/ and /e/ sounds.
Performance Standard:
The learner interestingly participates in enunciating the words with /a/ and /e/ sounds.
Content:
Instructional Materials:
Book, Visual Aids, Manila paper, chalk, pen, bond paper and laptop
III. PROCEDURES
a) Routiniary Activities:
Prayer, Checking of attendance, Greetings and recapitulation of the past lesson.
b)Motivation:
Reciting slowly, moderately and quickly the tongue twisters.
c) Presentation:
1) Activity-
Reading the written words with /a/ and /e/ sounds.
2) Analysis
Differentiating the /a/ and /e/ sounds through reading the sample written words
1) Abstraction/Generalization
Pronunciation is very much crucial in communicating verbally since you would be misunderstood if ever
you’ve mispronounce the words because meaning will be changed in mispronouncing the words.
IV. Evaluation
Asses students’ correct pronunciations by letting read individually the sentences and words. .
V. Assignment
List down some words that contains /a/ and /e/ sounds.
VI. REFLECTION

The learner will understand the generating ideas and their relationships and they could observe proper
use of parallelism structure and present a graphic organizer.
Performance Standard:
The learner completely participates in all the activities in the entire learning-teaching process.

Reading passages observing the underline words and apprehend the art of the words structures in the
sentences.

Generate ideas base on the given random topic and present their idea in a graphic organizer

Why do we need to observe parallelism in our communications? How do we use parallelism?
2) Abstraction/Generalization
Parallel structure is the use of similar patterns of words for the purpose of giving the same level of
importance to two or more ideas and it is often applied to achieve the art of speaking or writing effectively.
IV. Evaluation
A subjective test about on writing a one-to two-paragraph composition about themselves and making sure that
they’re observing correct use of parallelism in their composition.

Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of: South and West Asian literature as an expression of
philosophical and religious beliefs; information flow in various text types; reality, fantasy, and opinion in listening
and viewing materials; word decoding strategies; and use of information sources, active/passive constructions,
direct/reported speech, perfect tenses, and logical connectors in journalistic writing.
Performance Standard:
The learner transfers learning by composing a variety of journalistic texts, the contents of which may be
used in composing and delivering a memorized oral speech featuring use of properly acknowledged information
sources, grammatical signals for opinion-making, persuasion, and emphasis, and appropriate prosodic features,
stance, and behavior.

The students will be reading some newspapers and identify the topic sentences.

Discovering and pondering the rules on the agreement between the subject and the
predicate.

Group activity: the students will construct sentences while observing the rules and reporting follows.
