STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
INTRODUCTION
It is my pleasure to introduce myself as Ankitkumar Patel , as an under graduate
student in Mechanical Engineering from Sigma institute of engineering, Baroda, Gujarat
affiliated to GUJARAT TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT,
India. Also I would like to introduce myself as an individual having a strong determination to
achieve life goals. Some of my special qualities include flexibility, reflectivity, and be able to
face complex situations. Moreover, the four years of undergraduate education have made me
realize the profound knowledge of the subjects of Mechanical Engineering and has made me
aware of the gamut of opportunities it offers in terms of research and development at a higher
level of education. I want to extend my knowledge of Mechanical Engineering by joining
Masters Course in Mechanical Engineering.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
I am born learner with an inquisitive mind. My natural zeal for learning was nourished
since childhood by my parents and was enhanced by my teachers. I am hard working and
sincere to my work. I feel that discipline and punctuality are part of my life. Here is brief
information about my academics. I have passed my 10th grade from Gujarat Secondary
Education Board in March-2009 with 82% (marks in major subject’s math-96, English-77).
Then I completed my 12th grade with Science Stream from Gujarat Higher Secondary
Education Board in March-2011 with 69.38% (math-71, physics-83).Engineering at this point
of time, seemed as a natural extrapolation of my abilities and interests as my score in math
and physics was excellent. The amazing task of moving the world is the monopoly of
machines, so I made Mechanical engineering my choice. To pursue a degree in an institute
like Sigma institute of engineering, Baroda, India was privilege and to be in Mechanical
department was much more. With my excellent score, I was able to secure my admission in
four years degree program of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at one of the reputed
colleges of Gujarat – Sigma. This course took me a step closer towards fulfillment of my goal
of moving deeper into the world of Mechanical Engineering. Through this intensive course of
Mechanical Engineering, I gained strong grasp of fundamental concepts of Mechanical
Engineering. I completed my bachelor degree in June-2015 with 7.15 CGPA. In all my
academic successes my competitive spirit acted as a catalyst in me. During the course of
studies, among the offered subjects, “Production Technology”, “Thermal Engineering”,
“Industrial Engineering”, “Manufacturing Processes”, “Automobile Engineering”, “Internal
Combustion Engine”, and “Material Science” are my favorite subjects. I have adequate
knowledge of those subjects.
PROJECTS AND EXTRA CURRICULUM DURING UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
We have completed our project on “Optimization of evaporator plate of Bulk Milk
cooler (BMC) machine using CFD Analysis”
.I always aspire to make best use of my technical and conceptual skills for the betterment of
the energetic and ever-growing market of mechanical engineering. My work during the
project was the proof of this. My project was held at KRISHNA INDUSTRIES pvt. Ltd.
which is one of the major Bulk Milk cooler (BMC) machine manufacturing industries in
INDIA. However, this being my exposure to industry I was able to get acquainted with real
industrial practices. I have also taken the “AUTODESK, USA” certified professional
training for the AUTOCAD from hypersoft, vadodara.
MY GOAL
My goal in life is to offer myself in Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO),
Ahmadabad, because of my interest. But my short term future plan is to join M.S. course in
USA. Pursuing Masters in branch of Mechanical Engineering in USA is something that
ignites my clandestine emotions. It would also imply immense international exposure in terms
of learning and employing the latest Engineering tools and techniques, meeting fertile minds
and exchanging ideas on an international basis. Mostly I would like to go to USA to get an
environment that has adequate infrastructure, competent guidance and others who more or
less, share my ideas and love for the subjects.
WHY YOUR ESTEEMED INSTITUTE…?

Mechanical Engineering has always encouraged my interest in the subject and the
necessary technologies in your University. Having an extremely optimistic nature, I feel
confident of what I have decided for myself; only the path needs to be charted with the help of
the light to success guide me on my way.
I have also realized the indispensable role of Mechanical in present society and for the
future of our civilization I believe that I can make a significant contribution towards it and
thus be true to my profession. I also believe that Admission to a reputed university such as
yours with distinguished faculty and modern research facilities will expose me to frontiers of
technology. My ultimate goal is to earn for me a well deserved position on my return to India
and help my nation progress by using effectively the tools of modern technology.
