NEET exam pattern 2023: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the National Eligibility cum
Entrance Test (NEET) every year. As per the latest information, the NEET UG 2023 exam is scheduled
on May 7. The authority specifies the detailed NEET exam pattern in the information brochure which
will be released at neet.nta.nic.in. The NEET exam pattern 2023 which includes the number of

As per the NEET 2023 exam pattern, the questions in the medical entrance examination will be
divided into two sections: Section A and B. Section A will contain 35 questions while Section B will
have 15 questions. Of these 15 questions in Section B, candidates will have to answer 10 questions.

NEET exam pattern 2023: Understand the question paper pattern

NEET 2023 question paper will contain 200 multiple choice questions carrying 4 marks each, out of
which only 180 questions need to be answered. The question papers of NEET will comprise the
questions from class 11 and 12 syllabi from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects.

NEET question paper 2023 will be available in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali,
Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates can
choose the question paper language of NEET 2023 while filling the application form. It has to be kept
in mind that the choice of the regional language will depend upon the location of the NEET 2023

NEET 2023 exam pattern: Medium of question paper

Candidates will have to fill the medium of NEET question paper while filling the NEET application
form 2023. It must be noted that, medium of question paper once filled cannot be changed later.

• Candidates opting for English would be provided NEET UG 2023 test booklet in English only.

• Students opting for Hindi would be provided with a Bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi.

• All candidates opting for regional languages would also be provided with a Bilingual Test Booklet in
their selected regional language and English.

• In case of any ambiguity in the translation of any of the questions, the English version of the NEET
question paper shall be treated as final.
NEET exam pattern 2023: Marking scheme

Candidates can go through the marking scheme of NEET 2023 to understand how the marks will be
allotted by the authorities after the conclusion of the exam.

• For each correct answer in NEET, 4 marks will be awarded and one mark will be deducted for each
wrong attempt.

• If any question is not attempted, there is no negative marking for that as per the NEET exam
pattern 2023.

• Answers once marked in the NEET 2023 OMR sheet cannot be changed.

• Candidates are advised not to attempt multiple answers during the NEET exam as it will cost a
negative marking.

NEET paper pattern 2023: Instructions for filling OMR sheet

Candidates can understand how to fill the NEET OMR sheet 2023 from the below points to avoid any
kind of inconvenience in the exam.

• As per the NTA guidelines, all NEET answers have to be marked using a ballpoint pen.

• The ballpoint pen will be provided by the authorities inside the exam hall of NEET 2023.

• The candidate has to mark the test booklet code on the NEET OMR sheet 2023. Failing to do this
will lead the candidates into problems.

• All the required rough work should be done in the space provided in the test booklet

• As per the NEET 2023 paper pattern, once marked answer in the OMR sheet can't be erased.
