Attendance/Morning Work

Show the slideshow slides 1-8, if there is time then show 9-12.
Slide 2: I can statements. Read these with the students, they can repeat
them if you choose to have them do so.
Slide 3: Let’s review with short e. CVC Words *Letter E* - Jack Hartmann

Slide 7: More YouTube videos to support the ea also has a short e sound.
***Show slide 9 - let’s learn about possessive nouns. There are three
videos to show here and note that they are short and silly. On slide 10 this
video shows how it all works. Slide 11 is a practice in which students will
need to participate to find the correct possessive. Slide 12 contains two
decodable readers titled “My Family’s Pets” and “Jay’s Ranch”.***
Materials: Vowel digraphs ea* Adding Endings (change y to i) slideshow
Learning Target: Use vowel digraphs ai, and ay. Also be able to identify and
use singular and plural possessives.
Students will use their journals to write the following words 3x’s:
lives, enough, give, enjoy, away, pushed, yellows
transfer: mellow, fellow, bellow
pg. 331 - follow the prompt at the bottom of the page. Students and
teacher should work on this problem together.
pg. 332 - use the model and draw for students to follow along, they should
trace as you go through the problem. Ask for students' participation. The
share and show should be modeled but participate as a class. Check 5&6
before allowing them to move on.
Workbook pages 363-364
pg. 333 - on your own, be sure to check students work. Go over this page
once students have finished. They may also work on pg. 334. Both pages
should be discussed before moving on to the homework.
Assign these pages, the students may work with a friend if you feel they
can handle this task. We are still trying to promote the idea of working in
groups.

1:00pm-1:30pm Students should use this time to complete any assignments or classwork
we have done up to this point. ReadyGen, writing, and/or math. If
students have finished with all these they may read.

Making Words
Lesson 77 - jacket (rhyming patterns at, ate, ake, ack).
Use the word cards for this lesson, or you may choose to use the book. Be
sure to note the order in which you give the words. Mix them up. Words
are: at, act, cat, ate, Kate, take, cake, Jake, tack, Jack, jacket
Students will get on SeeSaw and complete this activity in the slideshow.
Words should be given three times in the format of word, word in a
sentence, and word. You can check around the room, but for this lesson it
is encouraged to make the word and then move on. Students will need to
complete the sort on the last slide which identifies the “ed, ide, ive, and
ine” in the words. Have them click the green checkmark when they have
finished.
Materials: iPads (students), word cards for lesson 88 or use the Making
Words 1st Grade book.
Learning Target(s): Use rhyming patterns to help build words using at, ate,
ake, ack.

Math
Warm-up: Students will get in a circle on the carpet and pass around Mr.
Potato Head to count from 1 to 120 (by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s). Once completed
students will return to their seats.

it out and then write the answer on the board once they have it solved.
For the last two part of this page. Pick a word from the box to match each
picture. Students will write the word on the lines.

using the word. You could model a picture of a plant being watered and
