Unconditional Love

The document discusses unconditional love, defining it as love shown without expecting anything in return and giving examples. Unconditional love exists in family bonds like between parents and children, in self-love by accepting ourselves unconditionally, and in universal love as promoted by Mozi who believed love should be given to all people equally without conditions. While unconditional, it does not mean allowing harm but rather embraces differences and builds tolerance.

Good afternoon everyone.

We are here today discussing about the existence of

unconditional love.I stand my position as I believe in the existence of
unconditional love.

Unconditional love means showing love for another person or concern for another's
welfare and pleasure without expecting repayments. We can simplify it as "loving
someone without limitations and conditions". It should not be unhealthy or toxic.
Unconditional love exists when you have built up connections with others. It
includes family members, friends, mates, and even strangers.

“When you look into your mother’s eyes, you know that is the purest love you
can find on this earth.” I’ve always been thinking about perfect love and I was
keen to find a reason why people will be willing to love me unconditionally , but
after reading this quote stated by Mitch Albom in the book<For one more day> I
got to instantly understand everything.

Unconditional love appears in family bonds. A baby does not love his or her
mother because of something. The trust in love and reliance on parents are
unconditional and without limitations. Our parents give us unconditional love and
support. They spend their whole lives grooming us, raising us, supporting and
encourage us emotionally, morally and financially. When I was a little girl I love
my parents very much. It gave me a warm feeling to know that in their eyes I was
something special. It made me want to be always good.

Self-love is also an example of unconditional love. We do not need any reasons or

conditions to love ourselves. I am who I am and this makes me feel comfortable
and loved. I take good care of myself and am concerned about my welfare and
pleasure, not because of how perfect I am, but because I am me. I appreciate my
gifts, talents, my calling and personality. I accept myself wholly including my
weaknesses and my strengths so that I can continue to develop better
characteristics in myself. I am being true to myself. I do not set unhealthy
boundaries for myself and I will forgive myself for being imperfect. I like the
‘number one me’ and also the ‘failed me’. There is no reason I should hate or
harm myself. I love who I am.

'Universal love' is also an example of unconditional love. The theory of

universal love has been put forward by Mozi, who was a Chinese philosopher.
Universal love is the core of Mohism, which Mozi founded. Mozi stressed that
rather than adopting different attitudes towards different people, love should be
unconditional and offered to everyone without regard to reciprocation, not just
to friends, family and other Confucian relations.

Universal love was applied by many religious people in their daily lives. They
tend to find a way of spreading love among the sons of humanity as they believe
that love is unlimited, boundless and infinite.

Unconditional love does not mean that you allow someone to act in a way towards
you that damages your physical, emotional or mental well-being. Conversely, it
shows the ability of how a human being embraces the differences among people.
This decreases discrimination among people and builds tolerance in society.
