The recipe calls for making a cake from flour, eggs, sugar, and milk, then poking holes in it and pouring over a mixture of sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk. Trilece is a traditional Albanian dessert that is similar to a tres leches cake.

Here's a recipe for making

Trilece:

Ingredients:

For the cake:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 large eggs, separated

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the milk mixture:

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk

1 cup whole milk

For the whipped cream:

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the egg mixture and mix until combined.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and mix until smooth.

In another large bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter until fully incorporated.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted
into the center comes out clean.

While the cake is baking, prepare the milk mixture by whisking together the sweetened condensed milk,
evaporated milk, and whole milk in a medium bowl.

Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and use a fork or toothpick to poke several holes all over
the surface of the cake.

Pour the milk mixture over the cake, making sure to evenly distribute it.

Let the cake cool to room temperature, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours,
or overnight.

Before serving, prepare the whipped cream by whipping the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract
together until stiff peaks form.

Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake and serve.
Enjoy your delicious Trilece!

Tips:

Be sure to poke enough holes in the cake so that the milk mixture can soak in thoroughly.

You can also add a splash of rum or brandy to the milk mixture for an extra kick of flavor.

Make sure to refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the milk mixture to fully soak into the cake.

You can also top the cake with sliced fruit, such as strawberries or peaches, for an added touch of
sweetness.
