Ti3000 Bit Series

Full Diamond Impregnation • High ROP
with Long Bit Life
The Ti3000 bit series is ideal for high abrasion as well as
high compressive strength formations. Their sharp diamond
crystals micro-shear the rock rather than grind, which

602
dramatically increases rates of penetration (ROP). The strong

HAL9
retaining binder ensures a long bit life; and at the same time,
allows the diamond cutting surface to renew itself, by
self-sharpening for continual shearing action.

The high efficiency of shearing is achieved with our synthetic crystal

diamonds and unique binder formula. As the diamond slowly wears while
drilling, it fractures irregularly and exposes new sharp edges, which
micro-shear the rock. The binder allows enough diamond exposure for new
sharp edges to emerge, yet it strongly retains the diamond grain for long lasting
service. Natural diamonds, on the other hand, are rounded and cleave, which
requires the bit to grind and crush, resulting in at least three to four times ROP.

Center crowfoot and radial flow hydraulics provide the

most efficient cleaning and cooling of the bit face.
The cuttings are directed straight outward, avoiding erosion
issues when drilling abrasive formation. The Ti3000B design
offers a larger face volume and better cleaning efficiency;
and combined with an aggressive cutting structure, it allows
the highest ROP ever achieved by fully impregnated bits.

Pioneer in Diamond Technology

Security DBS Drill Bits pioneered diamond bit technology
with the first surface set and diamond impregnated bits. We
continue to lead the industry with innovative designs and
manufacturing processes. R&D projects combine laboratory
tests and cutting models, which allow the development of
new impregnation materials, new combinations of diamond
qualities and sizes, and the improvement of our design tools.
