GREETINGS: Good day, everyone! I am R and we will present to you today our research study entitled
as “Analysis of Different Approach of Feeds & Additives in Broilers Growth and Development”.
TITLE: Our study was entitled as this because the main goal of the study was for us to provide the best
approach of feeds and feed additives that will contribute to the broiler’s growth and development.
Moreover, at the same time, even at the low cost production, we will be able to produce a high
quality broiler production,
INTRODUCTION/ SOP: We all know that the most widely used type of fowl in the world for the
production of food is chicken. Thus more often, it is one of the studied area in our country. In relation
to this, according to Aviagen (2019), providing the birds with feed of the greatest possible quality is
essential for effective broiler production.( We all know that the most widely used type of fowl in the
world for the production of food is chicken. Thus more often, it is one of the studied area in our
country. In relation to this, according to Aviagen (2019),providing ng good quality feed is essential
para effective ang broiler production.
) Moreover, based on Chang (2018), broiler meat production has increased more quickly than any
other type of meat worldwide- however, there was still growing pressure on the global broiler sector
to improve its methods of production because of the greater cost of manufacturing.
Thus, as a solution to the problems above, this study will and will provide a low cost, short span of
time, and high quality efficient systems of production and marketing productivity improvement,
growth, and development of broilers. By the usage of greens, specifically malunggay (Moringa
oleifera) and madre de agua (Trichanthera gigantean) as feed additives, which in accordance to
Alalade and Iyayi (2021), have long been acknowledged as the most affordable and plentiful possible
source of proteins because of their capacity to manufacture amino acids from a variety of almost
infinite and easily accessible fundamental materials.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY: In this slide, the objectives of the study which is the goal of the study was
being presented. The main objective of this study is to examine how different feed additive
approaches affect the growth and development of broiler chickens. Thus, it specifically aims to-
First, Assess the effects of various feed supplements in broiler production, wherein we will determine
the best feed additives to the broilers that will not cause any harm, and at the same time will produce
high quality broiler production.
Second, determine the best feed supplement to produce high-quality broilers within 28 days. Even in
a short span of time, we will be able to produce a high quality broiler production that will contribute
especially in the broiler sector.
And lastly, Identify the cost-efficient feed supplementation in broiler production. Since according to
one of the main problem of broiler production is the cost, we will be able to contribute not only in the
broiler production, but also in the market.
METHODOLOGY: In this part, we will discuss the materials and process that will be used in the study-
1. First, is the procurement of stock, wherein we purchase a 27 one-day old chick on a reputable
dealer at San Jose City and was inspected through their dryness of their naval, bright eyes, and
activity of the chicks.
( Sa pag deliver po non is naka box tapos po sa cage po nakasindi na po yung ilaw 30 minutes to 1
hour bago dumating kite para po nakaayos na ang temperature sa loob ng kulungan pag dating )
2. Second, is the Formulation of Experimental Feeds, The The experimental feeds will be
formulated using the following ingredients: Three different prices of store-bought feeds
(Expensive, Average and Cheap), Malunggay (Moringa oleifera), and Madre De Agua
(Trichanthera gigantean). Malunggay and was converted into a powder.
A. First, Madre de Agua leaves were collected from the plant. Next, it was washed thorougly to
remove dirt, and insect pests that can harm the chicks. Lastly, after draining the leaves, it was finelly
chopped by the usage of bolo (itak), and stored in a container to maintain the freshness of the leaves.
According also to a chemical testing, these are a potential source of protein It appears that the
majority of this protein is real protein with a decent amino acid balance. It contains 19.7% Ash, 2.8%
Crude Fat, 13.4% Crude Fiber, and 37.0% Thus, Fresh young leaves can be given to chickens.
B. Second, in Malunggay dried leaves, It was first picked from the malunggay tree and washed
thorougly. Next, it was dried for atleast 2 days . And afterwards, the leaves will be sort out from the
stem of it and was blendered to powderized the malunggay leaves. Moreover, Vitamins A, C, and E
are found in significant concentrations in Moringa oleifera leaves. According to popular belief,
Moringa oleifera is unique in nature since it contains more calcium and protein than milk, more
vitamin C than oranges, more potassium and iron than bananas, and more vitamin A than carrots.
Thus, it was also commonly used as the feed additives for the broiler.
As an additional to that, Table 1 above shows the nutrient component of Malunggay (Moringa
oleifera) leaves that involves its chemical composition related to its nutrients that it can provide,
giving a good factor as a feed additives. As you can see, compared to fresh leaves of malunggay, it was
seen that dried malunggay leaves possessed more nutrients than the fresh leaves.
3. Third, is the water utilization in broilers. In preparation for the water of broilers, first we
thoroughly wash the broiler’s water drinkers. Next we will add water to the container and mixed
it with vetracin gold and liquid molasses. The Vetracin gold was used to treat and control Chronic
Respiratory Disease (CRD) and other respiratory and enteric disorders such as infectious coryza,
infectious synovitis, poultry cholera, salmonellosis, E. coli infections, and necrotic enteritis,
veterinarians advise using Vetracin Gold because it has probiotics.
Moreover, we use 5 ml per liter liquid molasses to increase the appetite of the broilers. According to
( RRL)
LAYOUT: THUS, in this SLIDE the layout of the Formulation of Experimental Feeds was presented. We
have 3 treatments by 9 replication. ( explain more according to the table)
4. Fourth, in cultural management practices, first is the Brooding and Rearing wherein one bulb at
50 watts, each was used to provide heat and light to the chicks. In terms of feeding, The birds in
the different treatments will be fed with their corresponding rations throughout the duration of
the study. Clean fresh water will be provided as drinking water to the birds throughout the
study.
5. Fifth, is the Broiler Feeding Guidelines according to Brosas (2022), at AgriVet Pilipinas. On one-
14 days, Chick Booster was used with respecting grams. On the next 15-21 days, Starter, and on
22-28 days was the Finisher. Moreover, the ratio was according to Piao (2019) and Libatique
(2021) wherein it was said that feed additives recommendation should be atleast 10 percent of
the feeds.
6. IN statistical analysis, we use the CRD because it was the simplest statistical design and it was
the accurate layout since we only have few experimental units unlike to RCBD that is applicable
to large number of experimental units in a field. Thus, the chicks will be randomly distributed to
the different treatments and replicated thrice with three (3) chicks per treatment. There were
three (3) treatment used as follows: T1 – Control, T2 -Feeds with Malunggay, T3 – Feeds with
Madre De Agua.
7. Lastly, was the Data to be Gathered. First, was the Body weight wherein we first weigh the
broiler in a weighing scale since the first day and every week that will be entered in Excel. It will
be measured for us to determine if the feed and feed additives significantly effect the growth
and production of the chickens.
Second, the Body Weight Gain was also measured by dividing the total kilograms of feed by the
average daily gain. It will be measure to serve as a guide on the amount it gain for further
improvements and future studies.
Third, the FCR After weighing the broilers, the feed conversion ratio will be computed by dividing
the total amount of feed consumed by the broilers by the weight gained. It will be measure also to
serve as a guide on the amount it gain for further improvements and future studies.
Lastly, Mortality- It will be determined and calculated by adding up all of the deaths, dividing by the
number of chickens in the home on that particular day, and multiplying by 100. It will be measure to
assess the productivity of the broilers.
