Narrative Essay (Intramurals 2023)
The extracurricular activities at every school should include intramural sports. Students
congregate around this time to compete in a variety of sporting events to display their abilities. I
was able to take part in the intramural basketball competition as a student.
PLTCI intramurals has 3 days schedule only, but due to the number of teams and players it was
decided that events will be starting 2 days prior the said schedule of the intramurals or what we
call pre intramurals.
Our first opponent in basketball was the strongest team which is team Maginoos which is the
team of criminology students that consists players from CaVRAA, NBL, National Basketball
tournament players, etc. which means that their team consists of the strongest players not only in
Nueva Vizcaya but also from different places like, Ilagan, Quirino, and Santiago. In this game,
our team accepted that we would not win or even match with their players, our plan is that we
will lose against them but in the next games we will win.
Our next game was with the rajas, team that consists players from medicine course, we expected
that we would win the game with huge gap in our score and that’s what happened, it was an easy
W for our team.
3rd game was with team lakans, they tried to knock our team out but they did not achieve, they
only have 7 players in their roster so what should they expect? And also, they only have two
players who I think can play basketball.
Semi finals was with team Sultans, there’s a player that we really want to play with because he is
to big headed inside the court, I wouldn’t say his name. Their team was very competitive like
ours. We thought that they would have a chance to dominate our team. But then again after 1 st
quarter what we thought was wrong, it was our team that dominated and swept their team in the
court. Leaving the boastful their boastful teammate with the face of disappointment.
And then we played against Maginoos again, for championship round. We already know from
the very beginning that their team would be the champion in basketball but we tried to play
seriously and we did not expect that we would lead the score in 1 st quarter until 2 minutes of
second quarter, But then, our first five team needs to sit and take substitutions and there we lost,
after substituting, under 1 minutes, team Maginoos took the lead 20-0. There, we decided to just
enjoy the game.
I was not able to watch everything that happened in the intramurals because we were inside court
and others were outside playing their different games,It was a very exhausting yet very enjoying
experience that students, teachers, and faculty have had. Intramurals gave student and teachers
different kind of bonding and also a lesson of unity, acceptance, and good sport. PLTCI
intramural was a blast!
