I. OBJECTIVES At the end of one hour discussion, the learners are expected to do the following:
a. Define the different literary device
b. identify the literary elements present in a particular literary selection.
c. construct meaningful sentences using different literary devices.

I love to flip my orange fins when I am playing


Down the deep blue water where I live.
I have scales and I have tail wiggling it day by day.
I feel the cold splash of water on my face
And even hear the others bubbling and swimming at my place.
I like the salty smell of the reefs ,down below
and loves to hide from them everywhere I go.

Trivia: did you know that thousand years ago people have been already using numerical
symbols. Cultural associations, including religious, philosophic and aesthetic with various
numbers.Humanity has had a love-hate relationship with numbers from the earliest
times.Pythagorans believe that numbers are the basis of entire universe. Example for the
number 13, this number symbolizes, fear death.Phytagoras was a greek who thrived in
the 6th centrury BC. They believed that number 1 symbolizes unity and the origin of all
things since all the numbers can be created from 1 by adding enough copies of it.
Example 7=1+1+1+1+1+1+1=1. For them all even number are female and all odd numbers
are male and number 1 is neither.instead it changed each to the other. If 1 is added to an
even number, it become odd,: similarly if 1 is addedto odd number it becomes even.
