SECTION 1
Number: number and place value recognise the place value of each digit in a three-digit
number (hundreds, tens and ones), including reading, writing and sequencing numbers,
using H,T,U notation and partitioning, order and compare numbers, round any number to
the nearest 10, read Roman numerals to 20; addition and subtraction add and subtract
numbers with up to 3 digits, solve addition and subtraction problems in contexts, decide
which operations and methods to use and why; multiplication and division recall
multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 × 12 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10),
use place value, known and derived facts to multiply and divide mentally, solve problems
involving multiplying and adding; fractions (including decimals) solve problems involving
fractions to calculate quantities, and fractions to divide quantities, compare numbers with
the same number of decimal places with one decimal place, solve simple measure and
money problems involving fractions and decimals to two decimal places
Measurement: calculate with different measures, including money in pounds and pence,

read, write and convert time between analogue and digital 12-hour clocks, solve problems
involving converting from hours to minutes; minutes to seconds; weeks to days
Geometry: properties of shapes compare and classify geometric shapes, based on
properties and sizes

SECTION 2
Number: number and place value recognise the place value of each digit in a four-digit
number (thousands, hundreds, tens and ones), order and compare numbers beyond 1000;
multiplication and division recall multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables
up to 12 × 12 (6, 7, 8, 9); fractions (including decimals) recognise common equivalent
fractions, compare numbers with the same number of decimal places with one decimal
place, solve simple measure and money problems involving fractions and decimals
Measurement: convert between units of measurement, including units of length,
mass and capacity, solve problems involving converting from years to months
Geometry: properties of shapes identify acute and obtuse angles and compare and

order angles up to two right angles by size; position and direction describe positions
on a 2-D grid as coordinates in the first quadrant, plot specified points and draw sides
to complete a given polygon
Statistics: solve comparison, sum and difference problems using information in tables

SECTION 3
Number: number and place value read Roman numerals to 100 (I to C), round any
number to the nearest 100, identify, represent and estimate numbers using different
representations; multiplication and division recall multiplication and division facts for
multiplication tables up to 12 × 12; fractions (including decimals) add and subtract
fractions with the same denominator, recognise, write and order fractions and decimals,
solve simple measure and money problems involving fractions and decimals to two
decimal places
Measurement: solve problems involving mass, capacity and time
